Fit & Flare Sweater Dress

This is the prettiest dress I've ever owned! I am 5'7", 116 lbs, and 67 years old. I've been looking forever for a 3/4 sleeve dress with a high enough neckline to be classic and tasteful for "my age", with a skirt that falls nicely and not so tightly as many of the dresses do now. I didn't want clingy, but not loose and formfitting either. This dress fits the bill. The material is nice and heavy, for cooler days or evenings, and the matching belt is wonderful. The Hunter color is stunning, a lovely green. The length is perfect for me. Tip: because it is a "sweater" I hung it over a trouser hanger rather than hanging it the way you would a dress so that over time it won't stretch at the shoulders.

Beautiful dress, BUT (!!!) the sizing on the black and spruce dresses was much different. In the Medium size for the black dress, the waist fell 1.5” lower, and the hem on the black dress was a full 3” longer, than the spruce color. Both are colors are lovely and the dress is a great quality, but pay attention to the difference in sizing between the colors! The top of the dress also fits a little tight: I am usually a size 4 in Eliza J dresses (5’3”, 125lbs, hourglass shape), but I required the M size for this dress because it fits snugly in the chest, arms, and waist area.

Fantastic dress to transition into the fall/winter. Exceedingly comfortable, fit well, compliments any shape. Based on reviews I went a size up and I wasn't disappointed. It is comfortable to wear all day long, and I received tons of compliments. Beautiful color!

I own quite a few Eliza J dresses and normally love the fit and find them very flattering. Sadly, this wasn't one of those dresses for me. The material was a bit more rough/scratchy than I expected, but I could have gotten past that if the dress was flattering. I am 5'5" around 135-138 pounds and a true medium. The medium in this dress was very snug in the torso and really highlighted my stomach and chest (I do have a larger chest, but this dress is very clingy). I have lost weight recently and am not really self-conscious of my stomach (mom pooch) anymore, but this dress made it look way more pronounced. I would have considered sizing up to a large 'cause of the sale price, but the length would have been way too long. The skirt part was already too long for my liking. It would have maybe been okay with heels, but not flattering with flats. This dress looks beautiful online, but in person it was just okay and not the best fit for me.

Well, this is not a dress I wanted to buy. My husband passed away unexpectedly at age 39. I suddenly needed a black dress I wouldn't hopefully hate thinking about when wearing it again down the road. This dress was comfortable and had just the right amount of formality. I hate the reason I had to buy it, but the dress is great.

Beautiful dress! The color is gorgeous, the knit fabric is gratifyingly heavy (not see-thru or flimsy), and the fit was true to size. So happy with this purchase. Can be worn for work, dinner out or events. I like the self fabric belt for a monotone look, but also plan on wearing a leopard belt with it! I'm 5'5", 125 lbs, 36DD and the medium was perfect for me. Great quality for a very reasonable price.
