Eileen Relaxed Button-Up Shirt

This shirt is fine in theory, if you’re comfortable with paying nearly $300 for a factory-distressed chambray shirt from a brand favored by middle-aged suburban women (like me!) fighting tooth and nail to maintain some semblance of a sartorial edge. It fits fine, the color is an inoffensive blue gradient, and the buttons, indeed, button. But what on God’s green earth is that stupid little, poorly placed decorative pocket meant to do? Hold a single playing card? I returned it, less out of necessity than out of outrage on the behalf of real pockets everywhere.

This shirt is expensive, no question about it, but, the material is nothing like I have ever felt before in a cotton denim. It is so soft but holds it shape if you want to turn the collar up or roll up the sleeves or wear it open over a tee. I love it. It is a relaxed fit but not oversized. I bought an XS and I am a petite but wear a 34C bra. The XS fit me perfect, not too tight in the bust but not too big under the arms. I have not washed it yet but already am planning on buying some other colors.

The quality and style of this shirt are just what I love about a denim button-down shirt. I ordered a large but this large truly was. Some button-downs I find run on the small size hence my reason for choosing a large. I returned this one and will reorder a smaller size. For reference I am 5’3, 145 pounds.

I purchased this Frank & Eileen "Eileen" style denim top and another "Barry" style to see which worked for me. Thanks to Nordstrom's fantastic return policy, I wasn't worried about buying both to try on at home. The Eileen style is not as tight fitting in the waist and hip area as the Barry (which did not fit). Now it's one of my favorite shirts! I love it and have already worn it several times. The distressed wash looks naturally distressed, not over the top. I look forward to being able to continue wearing it into the fall and winter layered with other things. Thanks, Nordstrom!

I have been looking for a denim shirt like this one for years. The shirt is a little pricey but I got what I paid for in quality. I have 3 denim shirts, only one of which is soft and it is wearing out because I have worn it so much. I needed a good-looking soft denim shirt to replace it. I bought the shirt in blue denim. It is exactly what I wanted, a beautiful blue. It is soft but yet durable. The designer details make the shirt stand out as fashionable. I have had Italian cotton once before in slacks and I know it lasts. I originally purchased the shirt in a medium as medium is the size I usually take in tops but it was too big. I exchanged it for a small which is still roomy but I like the looser fit. I know I will have this shirt for years. Also, I know my friends will love the look too.
