More of a large, soft-side suitcase than a duffel.
It will be useful for long road trips, but it is more of a large, soft-side suit case than a duffel. That said, it will hold a ton of things for extended vacations, especially if having to pack for different temperatures and climates. Not sure I would bring it on a flight however.
