Beautiful dress, ran small

I love the neckline of this dress. it is very flattering and classic. That said I found it to run tight around the chest and waistband. I bought my usual size, Medium, and while it fit, it was uncomfortably tight. I sized up to a large and it feels a little too big so I am debating if I will keep or return it. I wear a size 34D and typically wear a 6 or medium/small in Doen.
