Olene Eau de Toilette

I love this brand and especially this scent. It is so gorgeous! The jasmine is powerful, and at first I thought it smelled a bit like jasmine green tea served in a Japanese garden. The wisteria and honeysuckle are beautifully mingled in and I find the white florals truly uplifting. Best of all, this does not "turn" on my skin like many fragrances. There is no patchouli or other spicy scents to weigh it down. Light, spring/summery, floral, and ethereal! I have sampled many jasmine scents from mainstream and niche fragrance houses and this is my favorite. Not cloying - just lovely.

I wanted to purchase one of the Diptyque perfumes for quite some time before I actually decided to put down such a large sum of money on a perfume but last Mother's Day I decided I was ready to make a splurge purchase. The sales rep at Nordstrom was extremely helpful in walking me through the different scents and when I smelled Olene I knew it was the one for me. It doesn't last very long but to me that isn't a minus point--many perfumes that last too long leave an odd after-fragrance and I would prefer to smell like 'nothing' (not trying to cover bad odors via perfume?) rather than a watered-down version of something else. Would definitely recommend this line of fragrance to family and friends.

Olene by Diptyque smells like fresh flowers in the cool of the evening on a hot summer day. It smells very similar to Serge Lutens A La Nuit, but with a more complex dry down. I do not find the jasmine in Olene to be indolic on my skin, just fresh and beautiful. So glad I found this fragrance on Nordstrom.com. What a treat! Please continue to carry this wonderful French niche brand of fragrances and candles. I feel as though I visited a French perfume house and didn't even have to leave home to do it. Olene is one of my new favorite fragrances. I would love to see Diptyque make a matching body lotion.
