In L'Eau Papier, white musks are delicately faceted by an accord of rice steam, evoking the grain of the paper. To these are added luminous notes of mimosa, while a backdrop of blonde wood tones grounds L'Eau Papier in the material itself. The name of this creation brings together water and paper, recalling both the history of the Maison and the founding trios driving passion for the line and the brushstroke. It conjures up the diluted ink that permeates the page and calls forth the act performed by every artist composing a drawing and giving free rein to their imagination. French artist Alix Waline has stayed true to her own style, fashioning a work in delicate black and white, deploying shades and textures in abundance and elaborating the drawing dot by dot, layer by layer.
