How to use: Place the mascara wand at the root of the lashes and wiggle back and forth to give depth to the base and pull through. Layer the mascara on the outer corner lashes to lift and extend the eye. Apply to lower lashes with the tip of the wand and blend down. Always begin with the bottom lashes first. Use the tip of the mascara brush while looking up into a mirror for immaculate, smudge-proof and clump-free application. Then comb the lashes with the brush in smooth, vertical strokes while looking down into your mirror.

I always come back to Définicils
In black, dark brown and even light brown, Définicils colors the bleached out ends of my lashes, is the least clumpy of all I have tried, and looks natural.
It works well on the tiny little lashes on my inner corner of my lids. I can pick them out with the tapered end of the Définicils wand.
In my current life-style, I rarely wear make up but when I want to look spruced up, a quick, single coat of this, a Smash box green-tinted primer, a tiny dab of foundation, and a touch lipstick make me look "finished" or "cleaned up." Just a single coat of Définicils alone will make me look less washed-out.
Définicils works fine for my occasionally full application of make up (when I wear a more foundation, a cheek color, eye lid primer, eye liner, eyeshadow(s), concealer and an eyelash primer.) (I no longer can carry off super dramatic looks, wish I could.)
An eyelash primer and two coats of Définicils are about the max with this product and then it will start to clump. Don't wait for it to dry between coats.
Définicils takes a while to dry so I have to avoid sneezing and stuff, but this product rarely makes me sneeze (I sneeze A LOT.) Then I have to remove everything under my eye and re-build from concealer up.) If I can get little spots off lids or elsewhere while it is still wet, a dry Q-tip works.
I consider Définicils a cosmetic basic and even carry one in my purse, which is NOT loaded down with a bunch of junk. It's just kinda essential.
It worked when I was MUCH younger and it is aging gracefully along with me. It has worked for me when I had a big time city career, and every other role I've ever had.
Start a new one every three or four months.

Disappointed
I had only used the mascara twice when it became gooey and clumped - and the top would no longer screw on to the bottom. I have never had this problem with Lancome mascara. It became too messy to use. I plan to return it to a Nordstrom the next time I am in Sacramento.

Great mascara - horrible samples
This review is specifically for Nordstrom customer service - assuming they read reviews written by their customers. We'll see.
I wasn’t going to even mention this, but then I got an email asking me to review my purchases.
The mascara is fine, but the samples you sent were the most disgusting things I have ever received with an order.
I had to pull the sample mascara wand out of the tube with a pair of pliers – it was completely dried out.
The eye shadow was also drying out and was flakey and clumpy.
The lip stick was also dried out at the top – a nice ‘crust’ had formed on the top.
I’m sure the companies who made these products wouldn’t not appreciate their products being represented in such a horrible manner.
I will never get samples from you guys again. I don’t know how you’re storing them or how long you let them sit – but it’s really gross.

Lancome Definicils
Bad!
I have used this product for 40 years and the last two I purchased gave me an eye infection. I thought the first one may have been tainted, so I threw it away and purchased another, which again gave me an eye infection.
Won't do it again. I'm out the price, twice.

By Far the Best!
After having trouble with other high end brands, I bought the Definicils and love it. I've tried drug store brands to save money, but always gone back. This one never clumps or runs, even on hot days on Los Angeles.
