Cropped button-down jacket

LET ME START BY SAYING I LOVE THIS JACKET. First I have some complaints, then I’m going to tell you why this is an awesome piece. I’m five foot four, with a short torso. A lot of cropped stuff hits me at the high hip, or worse— does not looked “cropped” on me at all. It’s so frustrating. Adding to my dismay is Nordstrom’s occasional negligence with its sizing charts—and it’s really bad with this particular jacket. I’m 39.5-31-39, and according to the chart, I should be a 42. I’m not—I’m a 40. I could probably have even gone with a 38. So after ordering the WRONG size, I sized down and got a 40, and now I’m SUPER happy. WHY???? Because THIS IS AN AWESOME JACKET!!!! It’s soft. Super soft. Pillowy, feathery, on both sides, just lovely to the touch. It’s very pleasant to wear. It’s flattering. Cut to drape beautifully, it’s a lovely, versatile shade of camel that goes with everything, looks nice against so many skin tones. I do recommend this jacket just for the subjective experience of wearing it. But also—it looks GREAT! You can dress it up or down. Though I personally HATE the buttons. I’m ordering a set of carved metal Victorian buttons from Etsy (you could do leather ones or covered ones or whatever, easy peasy) and having them replaced. Why does Sandro (& so many other perfectly good brands) take a perfectly good jacket and run it with rotten, tinsel toned, fakery? It is annually beyond me. I grabbed this at 40% off. Totally worth it.
