Amazing!
I have been waiting for the new La Mer Foundation to come out and was SO excited when i saw the display this weekend. I immediately got matched by the lovely women at the counter and loved the feel, texture, coverage, and benefits of this foundation. I am 48 years old and have spent plenty of $$$ on all sorts of foundations- Chanel, Guerlain, Tom Ford, Cle de Peau, Giorgio Armani and more. I can honestly say this is one of the best! First, I was able to find my perfect match which I struggle with, I have light-medium skin with both pink and golden undertones and the Neutral was a perfect match. Many neutrals- pull rosy and this one is a true Neutral. The coverage is fantastic. It is a medium coverage that blurs imperfections and makes your skin look healthy. It is not a matte or dewy finish, just a nice natural finish. I bought the new La Mer Concealer in Light too. I love the combo. I have not purchased the new La Mer Powder because I don't wear a lot of powder but am intrigued! If you 40+ and are looking for skin care benefits in your make-up, like I am, then I think you will love this foundation. This one is a winner!

Ok. This will be a long review. I am just finishing my second bottle of this foundation. I have really put this to the test. I have worn this at least 100 times as I wear foundation every day. I have used this with the Le Mer primer, Chanel primer, NARS primers, Laura Mercier primer and many more. I have applied it with a brush, beauty blender and even the Clarisonic brush. I have set it with Urban Decay All nighter spray and Ben Nye setting spray. This foundation will not stay on. After applying I am able to just wipe it all off with a dry wash cloth. It looks very nice on my skin but I have to be very careful not to touch it in any way shape or form. And sweating ? Complete disaster. It sweats right off of my face. I watch YouTube make up reviews and many call this their holy grail foundation. It just does not work for me.

I love the foundation and this is my second time ordering it but it is also the second time it fell apart. I wind up wasting the makeup when it falls apart on the counter. For $120.00 I expect it to be perfect.

Propylene Glycol in Ingredient List
I have been trying a sample and loved the foundation until I read the ingredients. It contains Propylene Glycol which is in Embalming Fluid. I am also allergic to this ingredient. Many companies have stopped using this ingredient although not all. I would think that La Mer would have higher standards for their ingredients.

A big change . . .
I have used La Mer Soft Fluid Foundation for several years. Recently I ordered a bottle of my shame shade in the foundation and discovered it did not come close to my previous bottle. I contacted the La Mer customer service at the company and was told that the reason for this problem is La Mer had issued an expanded line with new shades and a new formula in this product and that several of the shades were changed but not their names. My old Creme shade was not the new Creme shade! La Mer makes outstanding products but be careful in ordering your "old" favorite in foundation. May be La Mer should have renamed the "old" shades! It sure would have been helpful to faithful customers.

Loved and then hated...
I am fair and porcelain is the perfect match for me. My skin looked beautiful and most people didn't even think I was wearing foundation. Then, the honeymoon was over :( My face started breaking out like crazy. My face hurts as I write this. i used it daily for about 3 weeks. I highly suggest getting generous samples if possible (I had 2 of the little Nordstrom pots). I returned it unopened. I was so bummed as it looked gorgeous but it was just killing my skin. I also should mention that I have a similar reaction to the La Mer creams and serums. I probably shouldn't have tried this knowing that but I liked their old concealer and was curious.
