The pony leather is definitely unique.
Looks like suede but it is not. A very unique shoe.

Different from other Country Japan shoes
I love the other ones, but these are like some fur or faux fur surface which is really disconcerting, plus I had to pay $13 for a box to return them because Nordstrom shipped them in such a flimsy box to me that UPS would not accept it for return shipment, SO whereas returns are supposed to be FREE, I lost money trying the weirdly ugly shoes.
