Cotton Yoga Rug

I bought this because I thought it would be great to throw it in the wash. While that may be the case, it makes a poor yoga mat. It slides on a wooden floor and I lost my balance so many times! I found myself on a fast-track to unintentionally inventing new poses like “Sliding Warrior” or “Accidental Split.” If you’re looking for a mat that stays put, this is not your guru. Namaste.

I should emphasize that I use this as a yoga towel for hot yoga sessions. It’s goes over my All natural padded yoga mat to ensure no slipping on the floor. That said, at the beginning it can be a little slipper unless you wear socks with the non slip, but it’s not overly slippery, I like the added challenge. It’s not like a wet floor slippery, but your body will not have as much grip with this as I did with the polyester towels. This actually Absorbs the sweat and personally I feel way better knowing I’m not absorbing microplastics while doing yoga in 105+ degree rooms. It also has been more than fine for my hot sculpt, but that’s where I feel the lack of grip the most. It’s not overbearing or dangerous, just obvious in plank or similar positions. And it gets some grip when it actually has sweat or water. I’ve thrown it in the wash a few times and even the dryer once or twice to make sure it didn’t have any accumulating dust. I cannot recommend it enough and want a second or third one.
