Classic and classy
I wear a 10 in Converse All Stars and took a 10 in these, and they fit perfectly. They look great, definitely a step above the canvas (which I also have).

Not like previous version. Rubs Achilles
See the photos. This new version has the leather sewn over the lip of the shoe surrounding your Achilles. This part is cutting/ rubbing into my Achilles heel whereas the previous jack purcell leathers did not. They have the leather stitched to the outside of the shoe and a canvas material (probably straight canvas) stitched inside. Also, the height of the back of the heel is HIGHER in the NEW style than it was in the previous Jack Purcells.
I believe the stitching of the leather inside and the fact its higher is what is causing the rubbing and this is why I am going to have to return the shoes, which I really hate to do.
My previous Jack Purcells were 7.5 and too small for my foot. So I tried 8s and 8.5s in the new Purcells. 8s were okay but still squeezing my toes. 8.5s were no squeeze at all but now the rubbing.
This was my case and why I have to rate the shoes with 1 star. I cant even wear them.
Please note I wear 8.5 or 8.5 wides for my running shoes.

Runs 1/2 size too big. Stiff leather
This fit is too big. Did the men to women calculation change in the last few years? The leather is really stiff and hard to walk normally in. Perhaps if I stuffed the toes of the shoes (making them less big and sloppy) and wore them daily, they would break in? Disappointed. I’ve loved and worn JPs since my high school days for over 40 years.

Classy and comfortable
Very comfortable and stylish. I get a lot of compliments on them. I wear women’s 7.5 in all my other “chuckies”, but these run just a bit big. Size women’s 7 fit perfectly.
