great casual shoe
I bought these for my fiance for valentines day because he was lacking casual shoes. He absolutely loves them and always says how comfortable they are. I changed out the laces for black ones and they look even better. They seem to be better quality than my own pair that I have from several years ago (ie, better cushioning inside, nice tongue, etc)

Not the same Jack Ps
When I received the shoes I was excited about wearing the great tennis shoes that I wore in the 1960s. However, when I opened the box I noticed that they were not the same quality.
The toe detail was very good, but the canvas uppers were thinner, and the sole was also thinner than the original BF Goodrich shoes.
They were also too narrow for a good athletic shoe. Its a pity because this was one of the most iconic shoes of the '60s and '70s, and there are millions of baby boomers who would buy them if they were properly made and a little more like the originals.
I returned them.

Skimp on quality
These shoes used to be well made. The quality now is very disappointing. The shoe feels very cheap. Converse has downgraded the quality of the shoe but has kept the price the same. I wish they hadn't done that. Would have been more than willing to pay extra for bed better made shoe. The original Jack Purcell shoe used to be be slightly heavier, contained a suede inner foot sole, metal tips at the end of the laces, and "Jack Purcell" stitched on the tongue. The original shoe would feel like you could wear them all the time without worrying about destroying them. Unfortunately all of that is gone with this new version. The new version of the shoe begin to look worn out only after a few wears. Until Converse improves the build quality of the shoe, my days of buying these Jack Purcells are over.

Disappointed in new Jack Purcells
Worn this tennis shoe for 20 years. Suddenly, this year, the shape is different( wider) and the rubbertoe lip is a different shape, shorter. Just NOT the classic we all knew and loved. Doesn’t even have the blue/green sole.

Pretty much the perfect casual shoe.
On my third straight pair of Jack Purcell's. Great shoes. Wore mine almost every day and lasted me a few years. Amazing quality, comfortable, stylish.
Note: These run true to size compared to their "cousin" the Chuck Taylor's All-Stars. I am a 13 in everything (Nike, Cole Hahn, ect). I am a 12 in Chuck Taylor's but a 13 in Jack Purcell's.

Totally Satisfied
My Husband saw these online just a few days brfore Christmas. We both used to wear Jack Purcell's when we were kids. I went online and was able to purchase them and they arrived on time for Christmas. He loves them and everyone has been asking him where he got them.
