Unique and nostalgic
This cologne was gifted by jomalonelondon to me as a sample for my honest review. The Jo Malone Hinoki and Cedarwood cologne is a woody scent that is also almost spicy initially, but rounds out to a very clear hinoki aroma. As a Japanese person, this scent is reminiscent of Japanese hot spring onsen. At first I thought this cologne is very distinctly masculine, but as I wore it throughout the day I can see why it’s marketed as a unisex cologne. I enjoy the nostalgia felt with this distinctive and fresh cologne. I would say that it doesn’t project particularly strongly nor does it feel like it lasts long, but it may be because it’s such a good encapsulation of a natural wood scent that the nose becomes accustomed to it.

Nordstrom contact Jo Malone
Nordstrom, I suggest you take the issue of scents not lasting to the company, instead of offering the customers to reach out to a customer service link. Clearly there are more than enough reviews claiming that the scent does not last. This needs to be addressed with Jo Malone. I’ve been a huge fan of Jo Malone for years, and have quite the collection that was purchased years ago. I recently purchased a new fragrance, and experienced it to be short lasting as well. I came on today, to make a purchase from Jo Malone, but decided against it, because of all the reviews claiming the scent doesn’t last. Please take this up with the company! Maybe something will change. I’m moving along now to shop for Tom Ford scents instead.

$24 price increase and formula change
So disappointing! Absolutely loved this scent. In less than 1 year, $24 price increase. Even so, I decided to purchase the 3.2oz bottle. Received it. Didn’t even have to spray it. Smelled SO differently and formula has def changed. Search all the review and Reddit sites. Unmistakeable. Spent $228 and it even came in some huge janky box not meant for the bottle. You could tell it had already been sold and returned. Just totally over Nordstrom and their low quality + reselling USED product!

smells amazing but NO BOX. AT CHRISTMAS
DO NOT ORDER THIS ONLINE. My friend ordered this for me as a gift and I love the box these come in. Over $200 for perfume and it was just rolling around in a cardboard box. Get your stuff together Nordstrom. Even if it is fulfilled at your store the employee should put it in a nice box… come on!!!!

Something has changed with this scent
I've been buying this scent, Velvet Rose and Oud from Jo Malone since 2017. It doesn't have the same scent or throw it once did. All I smell now is alcohol when I put it on. I used to walk into a room and people would ask me what I'm wearing. Now I have to ask people if they can smell my cologne and they usually can't. If they can, it's because I'm pressing my wrist against their nose. This is ridiculous and I've complained to Jo Malone but as usual they insist the product hasn't changed. This is a flat out lie and they either need to fix the formula or discontinue it.

Did not come in the classic Jo Malone white box/black ribbon. Just a dusty old bottle tossed in some brown paper.
