You can never go wrong with Cole Haan or Nordstrom! Product, Price, and Service never sub par!
These loafers are very comfortable, functional, and stylish for work or play. I got them a 1/2 Size smaller than my normal size, and after 2 days of the leather forming to my foot, they fit perfect!
My last pair of brown loafers I purchased from JCrew, at a similar price point, but they looked like I owned them for 6 years after 6 weeks. They were no where near as comfortable as these. If you need shoes, stick with Cole Haan, they have it figured out.

Toes wear out quickly
These shoes fit me perfectly (size 9) and very comfortable. I wore them a few times a week for several months--until the leather just in front of the sole started wearing through. If the soles were longer, it wouldn't be an issue, and it's the first time I've ever had this problem. Guess I'll have to toss them and shop for a different style.

Nice but
I really like the shoe as it is comfortable and looks good. The issue is the wear. I wore the shoes every night while on vacation for 7 days and the toe was totally worn out. I returned the shoe which is something I never do but was annoyed that it happened after just 7 days. I took another pair but the same thing has happened with this shoe but over a longer period of time.

I usually wear 9.5m on Cole haan shoes, but I order a wide one on this one and I was right. This shoes are well made and the leather looks great.

Howland penny vs. Cole Haan
As many others have already reported,these shoes are ones I really wanted to own.
Unfortunately they drastically don't fit.
Cole Haan needs to do some housekeeping in their quality control area. In most cases, you order your usual size, it arrives and you have a beautiful pair of shoes that you can't wait to put on because you know they look great, and, you know they're going to feel great all day long. This shoe, however, the Howland penny loafer, should be pulled from the market until they (Cole Haan) correct their sizing.
