Swing Zip Bag

I ordered this bag online for in store pick up. It was in a small box and the associate offered to open the box then and there for me but I declined the offer figuring it would be no problem for me to open it later. A few days later, I did open the box to find the bag stuffed with paper that looked like a cat played with it first and missing the Coach tag. It isn't what I expected from either Coach or Nordstrom, so I called customer service and explained and they told me I needed to process a return of the "defective" bag and purchase a replacement to be shipped to me with expedited service, which I didn't mind. When the replacement bag came, it appeared as I had expected the other one to appear. First, it came in a box large enough so that the straps were not crushed or folded to fit in the box like the other bag was. Second, the straps and all of the hardware and tags were covered in foam wrap and plastic which was not the case for the first bag. Third, the paper inside the bag was molded to fit the shape of the bag and was in tact, not in shreds. Fourth, it had both the style tag and the Coach brand tag, the latter of which was missing from the other bag and the entire bag was inside a clear, plastic wrap. Lastly, and I had forgotten this, the replacement bag came with a dust bag for storage, something else that was missing from the other bag. I don't know what happened but at the price point for this item and per Nordstrom's reputation for quality service and merchandise, the ball was dropped somewhere and I sure do hope that this isn't a sign that Nordstrom is becoming a lackluster retailer like so many of its competitors.
