Take the Day Off™ Cleansing Balm Makeup Remover

Clinique products have always been a hit or miss for me, but this offering from the brand has completely exceeded my expectations. It's such an easy and effective makeup remover to use...I scoop out a small amount of the solid balm and dab it around my (dry) face and gently massage it in. I then spend about 30 seconds working it into my face. Whether foundation, eyeshadow or waterproof mascara, there doesn't seem to be anything this baby doesn't dissolve! Once I've done that, I then rinse it off, no other cleanser required. Even if I use a toner afterwards, the cotton pad almost always comes off clean, rarely is there anything more than a faint trace on the pad. The balm has a texture like coconut oil - when it's solid and it quickly dissolves at skin temperature. You get a good amount of product (3.8 oz) for the price, which is around $30 USD. There's no stinging with this. My eyes often water with cleansers and makeup removers, but doesn't react to this when I rub it into my eye area to remove eye makeup. The formula itself is as basic as they come, with one ingredient I always like to see in a product: Vitamin E. Whether it's that or one of the others, I don't know, but my face never feels dry after using this, and if anything more hydrated and comfortable.
