Details & care

What it is: A creamy-smooth eyeliner pencil with a hint of shimmer.

What it does: It shapes and defines with intense, stay-put color that is smudge-proof and water- and transfer-resistant. It's easy to sharpen, too.

How to use: For a thin line, gently sharpen the pencil to a fine point and make small, light strokes along the lash line. For a thicker, more dramatic line, use a less sharpened point and the side of the pencil. Smudge with your fingertips. Remove with your favorite eye makeup remover. Cap tightly to maintain creamy texture.

Perfect color

I have olive green eyes with some flecks of gold-brown. My hair is a combination of honey blond, light blond, and some silver. Brown liner is too "blah" and true black is too cold and harsh. This shade, "Egyptian", is the perfect solution. It glides on with no pulling, can be easily corrected with a brush or q-tip, and can be applied in a thin line or a thicker smudged shading. Sharpens easily with the Clinique sharpener. The gold pearl highlights are not at all glittery--no "Barbie doll" look. Just a subtle gleam that shows off your eye color and looks gorgeous with black mascara. It comes off easily in the shower and with Clinique's Naturally Gentle Eye Makeup Remover--no struggles with leftover color. This is the liner for the rest of my life!

cap stuck on

I’ve been using this product for years. But this time when I took it out of the box I could NOT get the cap off of it! Thinking I was being a spaz I asked my husband to try it and he couldn’t get it off either, unless he used tools which would have destroyed it. So now I have to return it.

Great for older eyes...

I love this eye pencil. And I've tried just about every brand out there. Its perfect for we older ladies with looser skin around the eye area as it doesn't skip and goes on smoothly and evenly. The shimmer in the pencil is just enough and the liner lasts all day without smudging. You do have to sharpen it regularly, so buy a cheap kids pencil sharpener (it works perfectly) as it does not come with one. I've tried all 3 of the color options and they are all great. Worth the money!

Beautiful color and smudge free

I use very emollient (oil-based) moisturizer because of a skin condition, and I'm thrilled that this eyeliner doesn't smudge on me. I've tried them all — pencil, gel and liquid. "Egyptian" is a beautiful dark, shimmering khaki green. The pencil texture is firm, not creamy, so you do have to apply some pressure, but on the plus side, you won't have to sharpen it after every use.

Clinique Shaper for Eyes

I have a neurological condition which makes it difficult to draw a straight line. This product is helpful because it's a soft gel pencil which doesn't cause one to use a lot of pressure.

Love it!

First time using this eyeliner and was quite impressed. Have tried other Clinque eyeliners and haven't cared for them. This was creamy, easy to apply and blend. Long wearing! Will try other colors.

Best Color

Egyptian is such a good color for people with green eyes. I I just wish it came in liquid.
