Age Defense BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30

I am a recent convert to Clinique products and although I find the brand to be a little boring in terms of colors and new products, there skincare is truly exceptional. As the BB cream trend hi the states, I started with a high-end Korean BB cream which in turn was way too heavy and made my skin break out. I then tried Bobbi Brown's BB cream which I thought was a little too shear to wear alone and did little to moisturize. I don't like to put too much on my face so that's why I really liked the idea of BB cream as being an all-in-one type of product. Dior's BB cream was very heavy and only comes in one color. I am rather fair and the cream made me look really orange. It had great coverage but you can feel the product on your face. I then went back to Clinique as I have been using their oil free foundation with no problems besides being a little on the drier side. I have combination skin so I will ultimately lose on one end of the moisture spectrum. I was wrong when I tried this BB cream. It really is amazing and although it comes in three colors, color 2 blends really well with fair skin that isn't extremely pale. I have been using the product for about a month and my skin is so much better since before I started using the cream. I would highly recommend trying it out.

I am not Asian, but I have a yellow undertone to my skin that is a real problem when trying to match skintone to product. I am also in my 50s - with oily skin that still breaks out on the chin. I don't use much make-up, like a natural look. My skin has sun damage, some big pores, isn't very wrinkled. I LOVE this BB Cream. I chose Shade 2. It is a perfect match to my skin, completely invisible... blending it onto your skin is essential, I think too much all over your face and it could look weird. It seems to minimize pores, and has this amazing smoothing effect that is great. I dot it under my eyes, and down the T-zone, but just feather it out from there. My natural color is still visible on cheeks, there's no demarcation line.... it matches that well. I use an oil-free moisturizer underneath. I used to use Jane Iredale powder foundation, now I use a little of that on a tiny brush to dot onto redness or spots that I still see after BB Cream goes on. The BB Cream wears off a bit after a long day, but somehow there is enough left in the pores that it still looks smooth! I like that it has zinc oxide, for so many reasons. As mentioned on the product description this is an Asian cult favorite and has "enough" coverage to banish imperfections. I got the Shade 02 although the Shade 03 was being recommended to me by the girl who has a very fair face behind the counter of Nordstrom's Clinique. She said she uses Shade 02. I'm so glad I didn't listen to her! I've tried the Shade 03 right in front of her and it was darker than my skin. I guess she was trained to recommend the darker shade to Asians? I don't know but I have a pale skin and I believe I fall under moderately fair complexion so i got the Shade 02. Anyways, if your face is oily this product will work on your face without applying moisturizer first, otherwise use moisturizer cause it's a bit drying. This does NOT completely erase or hide blemishes. This is because most BB creams are made to lighten up one's skin for some reason. Shade 02 does not make my face too light though...just a little...but to hide blemishes more, we need a little darker shade for full coverage...you know, like concealers! That's probably the reason why the clinique girl was recommending the Shade 03 to me but she didn't say so. I've used this about 7x already since i got it and each time i get the same result - it covers the little redness on my chin and around the nose area but it does not cover some of my freckles. Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra (I use Bisque 0 warm) which I've been using for like 6 mos now does a better job. It covers more!!! So now I use and blend them together on my face for best result but I would probably give up this BB cream cause Lancome Teint Idole erases and hides my freckles so much better. However if you want to get a lighter complexion look, use this BB cream. It does hide redness...just not freckles or age spots! I know a lot of Asians who like having lighter skin. I'm Asian but it's not my favorite as I want full coverage. It doesn't even give my face a dewey look...barely...so I'll stick with Lancome!
