What it does: Finally, color that won't kiss off. This 77% water-based formula contains the benefits of a lip treatment, leaving lips soft, comfortable and incredibly kissable. You can customize the results, too, from a soft look to high-voltage color. The more coats, the deeper the color intensity. The buildable color is resistant to straying, smooching and fading.

The BEST!
I never got the hype of lip stains. I've tried them over the years and they've always been a disappointment. After seeing a makeup artist share this on TikTok I had to try it out. And I'm so glad I did! This lip stain not only looks amazing but it stayed on all day without bleeding! I bought the color violet. Before I applied it I used a Mac lip liner. Then I applied the stain on my lips. I let it sit for 1-2 minutes. Then I took a tissue and blot it. I applied a clear gloss on top. I ate and drank and very little came off. At the end of the day you could barely tell any was worn off! Definitely purchasing another. Best lipstain I've ever used!

Fades away very quickly!!
I purchased because I was looking for a lip stain that does not transfer.........especially with the masks. Purchased in the violet. Goes on very Red not any violet that I can see! Not a fan of the watery consistency or brush used. My biggest problem is it only stays on about an hour or so. Fades very quickly, even with 2 coats! Didn't notice it coming off on my mask.....it just did not stay on my lips, disappeared! I have never returned a cosmetic item back to Nordstrom but I'm really annoyed that the item does not do as it stated so I will return this. Not sure where all these great reviews for this stain come from!!!!!

Great formula, misleading colors.
I love lip stains, so I was excited when this product came out. The formula is an improvement on the old, alcohol-based lipstains of years past, and is surprisingly moisturizing. I can wear it under a mask and it won't rub off! I wish I could give this product five stars, but there were two problems: the stain can look patchy at times, and the colors aren't at all like what you expect from the swatches or packaging.
I first purchased Rose Water because I was looking for a neutral pink stain. The swatch, the cap, and the product in packaging all look like a neutral, rosy pink, so that's what I expected. The color ended up being a very blue-pink--more like what I expect of a violet color. I also tried the Red Water, and it strayed into orange territory so much I thought I'd accidentally tried the Orange Water.
I like to experiment, so I did some mixing to get the color I expected. I'll wear the end result, but it's too bad it took buying to shades to get what I thought i was originally purchasing.

Lovely cool berry stain
Don't be intimidated by the deep berry color of the bottle and the product inside. This is a sheer, lovely, soft berry that really stays put. The formula hydrates my lips and does not rub off, but I don't think it holds for "300 kisses"! Maybe 100 or so. Am loving that I can make this shade deeper or less intense by using more or less of the product!
I recommend using a good lip scrub during your daily routine before using this product to ensure you get the most out of it.
If you want a cool berry color that will not transfer, stays through activity - I highly recommend Clarins Water Lip Stain. Overall very happy but only gave four stars because it did not "stay" for the advertised amount of time.

Only sticks to not-lips skin
The applicator is no good. The brush is too long and broad to get any precision. The color stays on the skin around my lips, but not on my lips. It really looks like I’m a kid who drank kool-aid!

Horrendous product, sorry to say
How can anyone get this to work? Like finger nail polish for the lip. Color is of course runny so gets all over the teeth and stained them pick. If you get outside the line, it stains. Goes on patchy. Terrible.
