Lotus Face Treatment Oil

I suffer from cystic acne, I have had it for about 10 years, since my teens. I have combination skin but also, quite sensitive. I was nervous to try this product because it is oil, but based on my lengthy research, I decided to give the Lotus Oil a try. I must say, I have been using this product for 10 days now as a nightly moisturizer and I am extremely impressed with the results. It made my acne less red and inflamed and moisturized the dry skin around them which made applying makeup much more smooth. It has balanced my skin and has completely removed patchy redness. The natural oil on my face is now balanced and mild all over, instead of the oily t-zone overload I experienced before. All in all, wonderful product. I use daily and love the smell. It is like a rich spa treatment before bed every night. If you follow the same nightly routine as I do, I would just make sure you put it on early enough so it has time to sink in before you lay your head on your pillow. This will be a staple in my routine for years to come!

I decided to do a small experiment by applying this to one half of my face and Clarins 'Blue Orchid' on the other. Both were a GWP a while back back but only just getting round to writing up on them now. A couple of negative points are the packaging - completely wrong for an oil as sunlight exposure will turn them rancid in next to no time. Also the fragrance - far too high up on the ingredients list and not good at all for some with sensitive skin (although won't affect all). The formula itself is pretty basic: primarily Hazelnut Oil based with a few extracts and other oils thrown in. I used a couple of drops each time and only on a night, following with SPF during the day. No night cream needed afterwards, as my skin felt adequately nourished. Now despite this being an oil and me having oily skin, it did nevertheless slightly reduce oil production throughout the day, although not greatly, maybe about 30% less oiliness as the day progressed. Also the odd pimple that surfaced would disappear a lot sooner with a tiny dab of this applied onto it. I can't say for certain that it helped with my pores but they did appear to be ever so slightly less noticeable than usual whilst I was using the oil. Lastly I did notice a bit of glow as I noticed upon waking each morning. Not only does this oil smell divine, but provides my skin with soothing moisture. I have sensitive skin at high altitude, so my skin is VERY picky. Clarins has done the trick. The oil reduces redness and has helped minimize my pores. Not only that, but provides a beautiful glow when on - under makeup or alone.

I have insanely sensitive, acne prone skin. I was scared to try this and was sure I would wake up to new zits but honestly, this product is amazing. I don't know how it moisturizes the dry areas on my face without exacerbating the oily ones. My skin is soft and glowy in the mornings and although it may not directly be eliminating my acne it has definitely made it better by improving my overall skin tone, texture and moisture balance. Have been using it for months and I love it. I out it over my night moisturizer patting gently. My skin improved significantly. No more acne. Just on those special days I can get like few pimples. And I love the whole ritual of putting it because of scent. I love oriental scents. Best face oil. Absorbs in quickly, no residue. In the morning your skin will thank you and will look incredible
