Citizens are the best
I just received these jeans in the mail yesterday and absolutely love them! I read so many mixed reviews about sizing but ended up going with my usual "Citizens" size- the same size I wear in the Rocket, Carlie, and Corey. These fit me exactly like the photo which is how they are intended to fit. I wore them all day today and did not find that they stretched out too much. I would not have gone down another size. The denim is soft and the wash looks authentic. Citizens does some of the best washes!

ZERO Stretch
These jeans have absolutely no stretch to them at all. Nice wash and nice high rise but not comfortable.

Not for me
I should have taken the advice of the Trufit guide and not ordered these but I had ignored the guide before with the Emerson's which have turned out to be my favorite. The liya fits very differently..very tight in the waist and thigh. They are very high waisted also which I thought would be great so they wouldn't ride down when I sit but waistband is too tight and accentuates my middle age gut. I am a size six in jeans and usually wear a 27 in citizens of humanity jeans. The fraying on the one front pocket was also a little bit much for me. These are most definitely very cute jeans but not for me. Pay attention to the Trufit guide and definitely size up if between sizes.

Wish they worked for me.
Three stars for the wash. Everything else was pathetic (on me). I was going to order the 30 but saw my local store had a 31 in stock so I went in and tried it on and was really glad I tried them first. I could not even get the 31 over my butt. The thighs were so tight that even if I'd been able to get them over my bum they would have looked awful, definitely not like the model. I didn't expect to look like the model because my body is entirely different but I've yet to find a boyfriend jean that fits girls who aren't waif-thin the same way. I have the same problem with Emersons. Thinking about whether trying to track down a 32 would be worth it but then I worry it'd be several inches too big around the waist to get a good leg/butt fit. So sad these didn't work for me. I really love Citizens and I'm waiting for them to make more of the distressed front pocket jeans in other styles! For reference, I'm 5'9 ~180#, somewhat muscular build and trying to lose a belly from pregnancy.

run large
the look of these jeans is fantastic - similar to a vintage pair of 501's. however, they stretch out a TON. i recommend sizing down at least 2 sizes - or squeeze into the smallest size you possibly can because they'll stretch at least 2 inches.

Perfect wash and style
I’m loving these jeans! Only hoping they won’t do the classic rip in weird places that jeans without stretch sometimes do. But the wash is amazing, the fit is too. So ready to vary my denim choices outside of skinnies, but still have jeans I’ll wear everyday.

Too big
Ran very large and didn't like the fit.
