Elina Gathered Shirtdress

I usually take a size 4 petite, as I am 5 ft and 123 pounds. I was purchasing this dress for a trip to Europe in June and thought I could also wear it to work. However, I needed to have the size 4 shoulders taken up so that the dress fit properly. The sales person called the Nordstrom alteration department to the dressing room. Rather than making the appropriate alteration the alterations lady convinced me to size up to an 8. I didn’t try it on again before my trip and was shocked at how large and sloppy the dress was when I did put it on again ( in Europe). So rather than altering the dress that just needed to be tailored in the shoulders, I am stuck with a dress that needs $225 worth of alterations! Nordstrom this is not the standard that I have come to know your store for, but it is the one that I will remember. Very disappointed!
