Sport Bustier Top

Artworks and workouts: A bold neoprene bustier is styled with side cutouts and a halter neckline for a strict geometric aesthetic based on the dashes, arced lines and hard angles of conceptual artist Sol LeWitt's Wall Drawing Series. At the same time, the Chromat design team was inspired by the focused athletic practice of following a predetermined workout plan. LeWitt drew on walls, transforming them into works of art; likewise, athletes transform their own bodies, recording and commemorating their own movements and marks. This piece—like the rest of Chromat's Formula 15 collection—celebrates that transformation.

Drawing from designer Becca McCharen's theoretical background in architecture and urban design, Chromat focuses on structural experiments for the human body—playing on and exploring concepts that range from scaffolding and city maps to wearable exoskeletons and intricate undergarments.
