Embellished Tie Waist Midi Dress

I was looking for an inexpensive dress to wear to a social function during holidays. This looked good and reviews were good. dress arrived promptly, but packaging was awful - dirty outside bag, poorly sealed. OK. Inside package was OK. My main issue with the dress is very poor, see-through plastic-ey fabric that is similar to my son's Halloween costume "grim reaper". Also the seams on sleeves are not done, the fabric is simply cut and frays. Really???

I bought this dress in plum to wear for my daughter’s wedding. It is wonderful! The fit is flattering and the embellishment on the sleeves makes it just special enough. I am not a fan of self-belts, so I have purchased a pearl belt to wear instead. It is definitely on the long side, but I’m 5’6”, so it works. Shorter women might find it too long.

This dress is NOT worth $100+. I bought it to wear to my college graduation but I'm sad to say that I'll be returning it. My four years of hard work do not culminate to this poorly made item. The main grievance I have is with the sleeves. That was the primary draw that convinced me to buy it in the first place, and they look awful. The sleeve is just a raw cut edge! The gems are cheap plastic beads that are glued on to the already thin fabric. The glue is seeped all the way through, creating a prickly inside that is unbearably uncomfortable. The gems also don't go around the entire sleeve. They just end in a straight line near the seam. The dress is so beautiful in the listing photo but does not hold up when you get it in person. I'm not impressed. The icing on the cake was that it was also too big but admittedly that's my own fault. Looking for a new dress asap.
