Luxury Eyeshadow Palette

I'm quite shocked by the 4 and 5 star reviews I'm reading for these quads. I bought three during the recent anniversary sale -- Rebel, Uptown Girl and Vintage Vamp -- and all three were disappointing. To start, the packaging is cheap plastic and feels that way. I know that other high end brands use plastic as well, but my Dior and Chanel shadows come in much sturdier feeling plastic that doesn't give off the drugstore ambience the packaging on these does. However, packaging is just packaging, and I'd forgive cheap packaging if the product was superb. Sadly this is not the case. These quads are poorly pigments and apply patchily even over primer. I wouldn't pay $10 for them, let alone the $52 they're charging. These are all going back. If you want to spend $50+ on a shadow quad try the new Chanel Les 4 Ombres or the Tom Ford quads.

I loved the colors in the palette online. I have green hazel eyes and the the red based shades in Vintage Vamp would make them POP. When I received the VV palette, I was disappointed that the colors appear pigmented but the color payoff is not so much. I tried using it wet and that just does not work. The "pop" color is very "teen" glittery with a LOT of fall out and feels very cheap. I was hoping the 'POP" would be a refined finish, but it is very chunky. I was very disappointed. I actually found that the eyeshadow pencil in "Rust" by NYX for $3, yes that's $3.00 imparts a gorgeous sophisticated burgundy metallic shimmer that looks expensive and refined, It's exactly what I wanted VV to impart. Who knew I would come across exactly what I was hoping for, for so much less? The ingredients in this palette include TALC and MICA at the top of the list. Just FYI.

I read numerous negative reviews on this eyeshadow on a couple of sites. I found none of them true and I'm a self-professed make-up snob. One of the complaints was that it flaked a lot. Another was that it did not blend well. I found neither assertion true. I put tape under my eyes to get a clean line and there is virtually no dust on them when I'm done. They blend well and the "pop" color is not too sparkly. I have tried it with and without a primer. It made no difference - the shadow stayed put and didn't fade. The colors are amazing. I am so glad I bought this palettet of colors. It was my first but far from last purchase of Charlotte Tilbury, It is my new go to.

I have never owned any luxury eye palettes until I got this one that I’ve always wanted. No words needed, it’s the feel of the eye shadow that gives that luxury feel. Eye shadow feels almost like a soft velvet, so luxurious. It also has that beautiful blend, at first it was really powdery and hard but I think we just need to get the hang of it. I truly recommend getting this palette. Other eyeshadow palettes vs this one, pretty sure you will know what big difference it has. I love love this eye shadow so much. The colors are so beautiful. Just apply eye primer and theres no glitter fallouts, for reals. I love this so much!!!!!

I splurged on 3: Dolce Vita, Golden Goddess, The Sophisticate. I was planning on returning either the Dolce Vita or the Golden Goddess because from first sight, they seem to be very similar shades. I was wrong though. Dolce Vita has a lovely warm burgundy brown feel to it, whereas Golden Goddess has actually a cooler feel to it. Golden Goddess, though seemingly gray, is actually quite suitable for work. It's a very elegant and soft look to it, so not too smokey for a daytime look. Now it was a battle between the angel and devil within me when purchasing The Sophisticate. It's all matte and it's nude. There are tons of palettes out there (with far more colors and a better price point) that seem to stand better than this one. However, the quality of these shadows basically persuaded me to keep all 3 because of the softness, the blendability, and the application of them all. Pigmented, easy to blend (basically effortless and fast), and colors work on many skin tones. There's nothing too light that would look chalky on me and nothing too muddy. These go way beyond the chocolate bar and naked palettes.

I got this palette in Pillow Talk. The colors are all nice, but do lean more orangey than I thought. I was hoping they were a little more pinky nude. It was hard to tell just looking online. Even so, I like them and they look nice with my green eyes. I love that it’s almost like paint by number, the way they are labeled for application. The packaging is nice, and the shadows are creamy and have a nice color payoff without fallout. I will ne purchasing another Charlotte Tillbury palette!
