Charlene Padded Balconette Bra

This bra is stunning and comfortable. I’d say it’s definitely true to size although the band might be a bit more snug than other variations from this brand, but not enough to need to size up. This bra is friendly for petite frames or more bottom-heavy breast shapes. The straps don’t sit too far apart where they slip off the shoulders or cause the cup to flip open in your underarms, and the cups curve inwards at the outer upper edges so the side band doesn’t come up too high and dig into my armpit or create weird bulges. The band is made of a breathable mesh material. The only issue I have with this bra that prevents me from giving it 5 stars is that the hooks where the straps are attached to make a squeaking noise when the straps move. Luckily, with a little strap-tightening, the bra is pretty solid and unlikely to move enough to create this squeaking sound. The bra has wide, supportive straps and a padded 3 hook design which is also a thoughtful touch for women with a larger bust. I would say it’s almost full coverage but it does leave some cleavage visible. It is more of a balcony or demi cup shape than a straight-across balconette bra. The gore sits low and doesn’t dig into my sternum. The cups have a nice shape and are unlined, with lace that isn’t rough. The cups are separated by a narrow gore which brings the breasts more together in the center, so this would be great choice if you’re looking for that. I am 5’4 and wear a 34I and overall I recommend this bra. I wish it came in more colors!

The cups fully encase my breasts with light foam contouring. There's no spillage over the top and only slight gaping at the sides. The underwire follows the natural curve of my bust without poking into my armpit or sternum, even when I raise my arms (Don't forget that you can bend underwires!). The band sits level around my ribcage, snug on the loosest hook, and doesn’t ride up in back. The straps are wide enough to avoid digging in and adjust easily; the J-hook racerback option is available but I haven’t needed it yet. The balconette cut provides gentle lift and a rounded shape without aggressive push-up. Tulip lace along the cup edges adds a pretty, understated vintage touch. In the photo, the bra frames my bust cleanly for a polished, not overtly sexy, look. I wore it for over 8 hours and barely noticed it until the end of the day.
