Tisse Mademoiselle
First off ladies, ignore the photograph of this quad, it looks nothing like the actual colors. This is a superb grouping of beiges, it is absolutely beautiful for brown eyes that have a lot of gold in them, as mine do and this would be gorgeous on blue eyes as well. Now for the fun part, mist your brushes with some water and play with the colors till your heart's content, these wear like iron and the coloration of each shadow is sophisticated and multidimensional . I give this a triple A+, but then I expect nothing less from Chanel.
P.S. I am 62 and I wear these frosts beautifully, so don't think for one minute that if you are of a certain age you cannot play in the sparkly sandbox, 'cause you sure can.

beware, the eyeshadow comes loose
I am super disappointed in the packaging quality, I ordered two different 4 color eyeshadow items and both did the same thing. Both had issues, in each two or three of the colors fell out on first use. What in the world Chanel. Return return.

Beautifully Versatile
I have fallen completely in love with Chanel's reformulation because of its ease of blending, luminous finish, long wear, and versatility. Depending on the tools you use and your method of application, you can create looks that range anywhere from whisper soft washes of color to gleaming bold metallics. These new quads put you in control.
Some people have commented that a number of the new quads are similar to older ones and that is true to a certain extent. Gabrielle will remind you of Enigma, Vénitien of Murano, Rivoli of Raffinement, Vendôme of Éclosian, Camélia of Rose Envolée, etc., but the new quads have differences in color, finish, and texture that make them thoroughly fresh and modern. In fact, I've been steadily replacing my old quads with these new beauties and currently have seven of them. So, if you have an older quad that you are fond of, don't let that deter you from swatching the new interpretation. You're sure to be pleasantly surprised by the new twist :-)
By the way, I'm 70 and haven't had any trouble with the more colorful quads like Vénitien (green), Riviera (blue), and Cambon (plum) because these can be applied in a manner that yields a hazy, smoky color that is refined and elegant. Don't let any SA or MA foist the outdated notion on you that because you're a certain age you can only wear matte neutrals. Poppycock! If you're attracted to the color, grab another more open-minded SA and give it a try. You might find yourself in love with misty green eyes :-)

308 CLAIR-OBSCUR: a complete review
Here'a a quick overview of Clair-Obscur 308:
Pros:
The colors are matte but not at all chalky or dry or aging
The colors are great everyday colors, very neutral, and easy to blend
The colors could also be used to make a great smokey eye
I imagine the colors would be flattering on many skin tones and eye colors
There is no sparkle, fall out, chalkiness, or creasing like many other shadows
Cons:
The big price for the small amount of shadow ($61 for 2 grams means each shadow is 1/2 gram only)
The packaging is cheap, lightweight plastic, not any nicer or better than what you can buy at your local drugstore
The applicators are cheap; again, not any better than what you can buy at your local drugstore
Final thoughts:
If the eyeshadow costs $61 dollars and has the double C for Chanel stamped on it, there is a certain expectation about how the packaging and applicators look and feel. Prepare to be let down! I don't care about the packaging or the brand name. As long as it doesn't break and make a mess, I'm fine. What does matter to me is finding eyeshadow that doesn't make my middle-aged eyes look older than they are. If you are 20 or 30, you can put anything on your eyes and it will look great; it's called youth, and youth is beautiful. Go to the drugstore and put that money you save towards your student loans or retirement account. After 40, I and my eyelids need quality and performance, and that often means spending a bit more on certain items, but I buy a lot less - more quality and less quantity. Because of the price, I really wanted to not like this eyeshadow, but once I put it on (smooth like butter), wore it all day (great for work), and it still looked great at the end of the day (no creasing), I knew I would not be returning this shadow and said good bye to my $61 bucks. So if you and your middle-aged eyelids need an eyeshadow that works beautifully on middle-aged eyelids, look no further, but deciding on the price is up to you.

Okay.
I absolutely love the formula and colors of the old chanel quads. I have used Raffiment for 2 years and i have hit pan on all of the shadows. When i went to repurchase Raffiment, they told me it was discontinued and told me to try the Tisse Rivoli quad because it was similar. I like it but nothing compares to the formula of the Raffiment quad. Old formula is definitely better.

Simply amazing
This is a beautiful palette combination. I needed a gold shadow that wasn’t glittery. These shadows have more of a shimmer and glow. The colors blend expertly. It is appropriate for all ages. I feel beautiful, not silly wearing at 44. Fair tone, light blonde, blue eyes.

well worth the price tag
I purchased tissue venitien and have been wearing it to work for a couple of days. I absolutely love the versatility of this palette! The dark green is dark enough to be able to wear it as a stand alone for nights out but the formula's also very blendable where you can wear it as a daytime look. Love it!
