I always love to try new products. That can be good or, a disaster. This time, it was great! The Ultrawear Flawless Compact Foundation is fabulous. It is light, goes on very smooth and is perfect for either a touch up over liquid foundation or, just by itself. I love it because, it doesn't "cake" or, crease into any lines on the face. I am 59 years old and even though I take great care of my skin, I still have lines. This foundation works great for a more mature skin or, young skin. I have used other powder foundations and there are a couple I do like. Nevertheless, I love this powder foundation and will continue to buy it.

Bring back the old formula

Not as good as before
I have been using the previous version of this compact for years and loved it. I think it used to be called Dual Perfection. Anyhow, I was so disappointed when I found out it was being reformulated and would be out of stock for awhile but the salespeople swore it would be worth the wait and it was so "amazing". When it finally came in, I purchased it right away. The colors are different so I had to be matched again and I went on my way. This is my second day using it and it is "meh". First, Chanel added a HIDEOUS scent to the powder and my face has an odd scent all day. It is a weird floral scent and I have no idea why it was necessary to add a scent to a powder. The coverage is also not as smoothing and does not provide as even coverage as the previous version. It used to provide me with a flawless smooth appearance (I have oily skin, somewhat large pores, fine wrinkles, and old acne scars on my cheeks) and now it settles into my pores and wrinkles. Now I feel like I could find the same coverage (and scent) in a drugstore brand. It is also more expensive. When applying with provided sponge, the powder flies everywhere and that is a waste of powder and it seems like I have to use so much more to receive a similar amount of coverage. The girl told me the powder was more "refined" in texture, but this is not what I had in mind. It is very drying and I have oily skin and I am even using the Chanel CC Cream underneath. Very disappointed and I wish they would just sell the Dual Perfection compact again as this one doesn't even compare. In a nutshell, I hate it and that is very unusual for Chanel. This is not worth the price so I guess my quest for the perfect powder will continue. This one stinks, literally!!!!!!!

So disappointed
Simply the worst. I had been using the double perfection powder for the last few years and found it perfect in every way. I would get tons of compliments on my complexion and was eager to recommend it to friends. So when the saleswoman at the counter informed me they had upgraded the formula I thought wow! Could it possibly get any better? This new formula goes on cakey with a strong smell, and begins to slip off my skin and into pores and fine lines within an hour and a half. By the end of the day I'm so embarrassed I practically run home to wash my face! Not to mention my face looks like an oil slick and my pores are clogging up causing me to break out. This is such a shame as I was devoted to my double perfection but now need to look elsewhere for a new powder. Why Chanel?! Bring back the old formula!

PLEASE PLEASE BRING BACK OLD
I am so disappointed in Chanel. This reformulation of the double perfection powder is absolutely awful. The coverage is terrible.. I have to apply triple the amount to achieve the same coverage as the old one. There are plenty of other powders on the market superior to this (and a lot cheaper).

Please bring back the old one. I'm not happy with this product. I've been using the old product for years and this is not a good replacent. Too disappointed!

Whyhaththouforsakenuschanel?
I have worn Double Perfection since I worked for Chanel in 1998. It was perfection. I was excited to see that they were reformulating it and bought the latest version as soon as it was released. I was pleased to see that they added some yellow undertone options for lighter skin tones. Then... I used the new version. I don't understand. Chanel has always produced the best of the best. This is alarmingly sub-par to the previous formula. It doesn't cover well, and if I try to lightly touch up, it cakes to the point that I can't even blend it in - I have to remove it. It smells nice; expanded color range, but that's it.
