EDITION No. 1 AFFRESCO LES 9 OMBRES Multi-Effects Eyeshadow Palette (Limited Edition)

It has been more than 5 years since a bought a Chanel eyeshadow . I found the new formulas to be catering to the millennials and not to the mature elegant woman. I have tried numerous times, but found Chanel's formula to be scanty with very minimal pigment and to much sparkle. Desperate and tired of buying poor quality eyeshadows, I decided to try this new palette. Finaly I feel confident in applying an eyeshadow with minimal fallout and just the right amount of color with minimal sateen sheen, perfect for an older mature woman. Please...please ...please ...take into consideration the aging mature elegant woman out there that still likes eyeshadow ..still likes lipstick.. and still likes a light foundation. Please do what Chanel does best and please do not put yourself in the same category of the impulse shopper!!!! We are special and we want quality and the formulas of the past Chanel!!!

This is a gorgeous palette that I absolutely love the formula of. I don't think I'll ever use the sponge applicators since I do not want to ruin them, but I think they are cute to just leave in. When I use this palette, I have just been applying the colors with my fingers. As a mixed person with medium skin tone, the palette is not overwhelming on the skin. I would suggest going into your local Nordstrom and swatching it to see how it performs on your skin tone. The colors, like the blue, green, and golds; are slightly sheer and does not look too overdone. The matte colors on the left are rather pigmented and will be equally as subtle for application, perhaps slightly more pigmented than the middle colors. The colors to the far right perform very similarly to the rest. I love this palette and would recommend it to anyone. It's going to be the perfect summer palette for people who do not want to look too overdone. If you want to look chic and sophisticated, this is the palette for you. If you're looking for that instagram look, then this is not the palette for you.

This eyeshadow palate has it all! I absolutely love Chanel - especially their shadows and blushes. At first I thought this palate would be too “colorful” for my 60 year old eyes. Upon investigation I was wrong there are 3 mattes, 3 low shimmer ( these 6 very wearable earth tones) and the 3 middle bright colors are nice for a pop of Spring/Summer color.

Colors are beautiful but the formula is so bad I’m surprised Chanel released this as is. Powdery formula with a ridiculous amount of fallout that doesn’t seem to want to stick & what does, fades after an hour or two. I wanted to make these shadows work so I’ve tried them with three different types of eyeshadow primer with seriously disappointing results.

I never need another eye shadow pallet and own other Chanel 4 color eyeshadow, was good but nothing so special abut them but am so glad I bought this. It doesn't crease on me at the end day. they get on nice and smooth, layer blue/green on top of grey/brown to get interesting color combo. Happy withe the purchase.

This just arrived in the mail and I cannot express how excited I am to receive it. I have used/worn Chanel eye-shadows for years but was a little underwhelmed by some of the color palette combinations of the last few seasons. This combination is fresh and vibrant, youthful but not young (if you know what I mean), with just enough drama for a night or day look. I will probably discard the foam applicators as I prefer using my own brushes, but for people who like the little applicators, Chanel's are probably the sturdiest and longest-lasting (the foam disintegrates quickly with other brands).
