Cassandre Matelassé Leather Wallet on a Chain

Loved this bag and enjoyed it until I noticed that the edges started chipping away after just a few wears within a little over a year of ownership. I called customer service to determine if there were any known defects in the leather for a certain batch. She confirmed that the edges are painted; therefore, will wear. Given Saint Laurent markets themselves as a luxury handbag provider, I would not have expected this corner cutting in their craftsmanship. Due to this, I cannot recommend this bag and would opt for another luxury handbag provider. The customer service representative did assure me I can send my bag in for repairs; however, any “wear and tear” scenarios would be at my own cost. Unless your handbag preference is a worn, tattered luxury style, look no further. Otherwise, save your money and time on another brand.

I’m not sure how I feel about this bag yet. It was an impulse buy because I saw that it was on sale. The leather and chain are beautiful, however I wish the chain was a tad bit longer. I’m short, 5’2 so it sits awkwardly if I carry it on my shoulder. If I wear it crossbody it’s not long enough on my body. We’re all different tho! So this bag might work for you. I’m still deciding on whether I should keep it or return it.

I was so stoked to get this bag.... After two nights of just taking it to dinner I noticed the leather was ripping away from the Saint Laurent symbol. It was tiny but i’m Sure could’ve gotten way worse. Luckily I was able to return it and glad I noticed this. If you’re paying for one of their cheaper bags such as this one it won’t last you for years. I sucked it up and bought a Saint Laurent medium kate calfskin leather shoulder bag! About double the price but higher quality.

I love this bag! Have had my eye on it for awhile... so glad I got this color combo - the dark gray with silver hardware looks stunning and is more interesting than basic black! Fits iPhone 6, lipstick, compact, keys and sunglasses (plus many credit card/ID slots).

I got the nude color (Poudre) and it is much (several shades) darker in person than pictured on here; looks more like a taupe/dark nude. It may not be the light color you'd expect but still a good neutral that's hard to find with silver hardware for a clutch. Overall, purse quality is great, sturdy, not easily scratched, has plenty of pockets for a WOC and beautifully crafted.

This is not an everyday bag for me, but I bought it with that in mind. I wanted something that I could wear for special occasions and nights out, and it has been great for that. It’s beautiful to look at and I love the grained leather and structure. Very happy with my purchase.
