Comfort and ease of use
Like most of Thule's products, the Cappy is simply engineering to carry very important items, like your dog. Our dog travels everywhere with us, even trips around town, and his safety is obviously paramount. This harness is easy, secure, and doesn't in any way poke, distract or bother the dog. It's a great item and I see no reason why it won't last a long time.

Great concept, but some practical issues
The idea behind this harness is excellent – attaching it directly to the seatbelt for added safety makes total sense. However, in practice, it’s not ideal. Since the seatbelt locks automatically during sudden stops or sharp movements, it also tends to lock up just from the dog moving around a bit. This often leaves the dog stuck, unable to shift position, and can even cause them to get tangled or trapped between the seatbelt and the harness. It’s a shame, because the build quality is solid and the concept is smart. A better-designed attachment system would make this product much more user-friendly.

Thank you for providing your feedback on the Thule Cappy Dog Harness. I'm sorry to hear about the difficulty you have had with this product. Buckling the seatbelt after looping it through the harness can help avoid the dog getting tangled in the excess strap.

Safety, Comfort & Convenience
I was so happy to see Thule release the Cappy! As a large family of 6, we often travel longer distances on Vancouver Island and elsewhere in BC for camping trips. I’ve never felt super comfortable with the seatbelt solution we had for our dog Bindi. It relied on her walking harness which wasn’t anywhere close to robust enough to truly protect her in an accident. It’s our first big road trip with the Cappy and it really seems very well-made and great so far! Thoughtfully designed to make putting it on easy, with plush but sturdy padding to keep her comfy, and a convenient leash attachment at the top for roadside bathroom breaks, the Thule Cappy is definitely Bindi-approved & 5 star! Even her best stuffy bud ‘Slothicorn’ agrees…

Great quality material

Overall great quality product. Appreciate the straps to adjust the right size. Even though I think I chose the wrong size because medium was a little thigh on Tames.
It has very comfortable material and its very soft to the touch.

DARCY GIRL DOESNT APPROVE, BUT HER AUNTIE DOES
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to say, this harness is sturdy, Darcy was not happy with being held in place. But it does what it promises. As you can see from the photo Darcy Girl was not happy, but I am knowing it will keep her safe.
