Trillium Regular Fit Down Parka with Genuine Coyote Fur Trim

I have a knee-length Down With It Patagonia parka but still felt a chill when it was windy and below freezing so when I moved to northern New Hampshire where it regularly hits the negatives, I decided to go all out and purchase a Canada Goose jacket. I actually bought a Kensington first because I was looking for a knee-length coat, but it was the same warmth level as my Patagonia coat so I returned it for the Trillium since Trillium has a temp 4 rating (and the Kensington was a 3.) I did a ton of research but the reasons I chose the Trillium were primarily because it was the longest temp 4 or 5 jacket I could find that was not like, shin-length. I didn't think that shin-length would be flattering on me since I am 5'1 and 115lbs. (Also Nordstrom doesn't carry Dawson, my other choice.) I got the XS and it's the right size for me. I hesitate to say it fits well because it feels a little strange that the hip area is tight while the upper area is normal. I think the coat is purposefully designed to be tight in the hips so it doesn't let any cold drafts get in from the bottom. One thing I wish I knew about was that the cinched waist raises the hem of the coat. CG says that for a M, the center back length is 36" but it feels more like a 34" because the cinched waist rides up. My knees get chilly because of this but the overall experience is still warmer than any coat I've ever owned. I really enjoy the hood that provides a lot of insulation and blocks out the wind. I can actually get around without anyone seeing my face because of the fur. I have no problem with visibility, however. I did notice that the fur ruff is less full and substantial than the fur ruff on the Kensington. I thought I would be upset by that for a while but now I realize that the Trillium fur ruff turns into your face when the hood is up and it would be cumbersome if the fur was as thick as the fur on the Kensington. I was also considering LLBean's Acadia down and Land's End's commuter, but I'm really glad that I saved up for a CG. I still feel rather stylish in it and there's something about the quality or style about it that makes me feel good and excited to wear it everyday. Before I owned this coat, you would have never heard me say I was excited for a polar vortex.
