Best Jacket on the Market
The greatest thing about this jacket is it's ability to keep you comfortable during the coldest of days. I live in Chicago and our winters can sometimes get as cold as 30-40 degrees below freezing, or VERY cold.
I've warn this jacket in temperatures between 40 degrees - 40 below freezing (fahrenheit). However, I wouldn't recommend wearing this jacket if it's any warmer than 30-40 degrees, as even if you're only wearing a t-shirt underneath you might find yourself sweating. However, even on the coldest days, you won't be super hot but you won't feel a tad cold either!
I'm 5'11 205 with broad shoulders, 34' waist and thick arms, and the large size fits me perfectly, with room for a thick sweater (would not ever recommend wearing anything more than a long-sleeve underneath no matter the weather).
Carrying this jacket around is also a breeze, since you will want to take it off once you're inside. It has a handle attached to the back of the jacket with it's brand name on it, very subtle and useful. They also come with HEFTY ykk zippers, very heavy duty which is also why it can be difficult to zipper up for beginners, but it gets a lot easier after practice.
Water resistant outer layer keeps your garment dry, however, I would NEVER wear this if it was raining. Water resistance does not mean waterproof, so don't ruin your garment by soaking it.
Proper storage is recommended as this garment uses REAL fur and feathers, because it has been proven that these materials keep you warmer than any other synthetic product. If that is a problem for you, I would definitely not recommend this product. Keep garment out of the sun and out of the humidity, especially during the summer. Keeping the fur and the jacket in a somewhat cool environment will ensure your jacket looks fresh for longer.
It is perfectly normal to see feathers coming out from the inside of the jacket, all down jackets will have this problem, especially with real feathers. The fur from the hoodie will also fall out, but once the jacket settles you should see less of these problems.
The only annoyance I have with this jacket is the top and bottom velcro pieces. The bottom one always comes undone when I bend over (because it's a long jacket, however, the ykk zipper allows you to undo the bottom to prevent this) and the top one is folded over and rubs against the shoulder part of the jacket, which I've heard may cause some damage. So what I've done is I bought black velcro strips and covered them, basically making it seem like they're not there and is completely unnoticeable.
All-in-all, I am VERY happy with this purchase, it's the best investment I've made on a jacket.

Nordstorms website needs some work
This was a bit of a disappointing purchase and I will most likely have to return it. The size does not run true at all. When you are making an expensive purchase online, the correct fitting is important. It runs extremely long. I am not a shot person, 5'9'' but the jacket is past my butt. Also, the picture was misleading. Yes it said maple red, but picture is a bright redn i was expecting the jacket to be the same color as the picture. Very disappointed and a huge hassle to return.

Well-made jacket that looks very sharp
I am taking the time to write this review because I actually want to help you in your decision.
Reviews that follow this narrative: "I bought this for my BF, my husband, or my son and they liked it" are NOT reviews. I mean why would you even waste your time to post such a thing?
I personally debated this purchase for at least a month because I was not about to drop $1000 on an article of clothing unless I could seriously justify it.
I went for the Canada Goose because of two major reasons; the jacket is well-made and it has a flattering fit. I wasn't going to buy a less expensive $300 jacket that felt boxy because if the jacket doesn't look good on you then what is the point?
Here is how I chose the Langford model. I looked at every jacket under $1000 on Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Saks. I narrowed it down to a few Canada Goose models and a few other models. The Canada Goose jackets all looked sharper than the others and honestly stood out from the others. The other jackets all looked like each other to some degree. I mean there was a Woolrich model that cost $1100 but it looked like any old $150 jacket on the outside. There was a similar Moncler parka but it cost $1995 and I could not understand why.
I have a North Face Nuptse from a decade ago. It's a great jacket with 700 fill down but it hits at the waist and it looks more sporty than professional. I would feel odd wearing that North Face jacket with dress slacks. I wanted a jacket that was a true parka and one that was both sporty and professional at the same time. I narrowed the Canada Goose models down to the Chateau and the Langford. I went with the Langford because it has chest pockets that feel anatomically correct because they are positioned higher up. The Chateau pockets are much lower down and they just did not feel comfortable. Another thing that nobody seems to point out is that the Langford has a built in wire in the hood that allows you to shape the fur ruff. This is a HUGE feature because it prevents the fur ruff from falling on your face. It makes the jacket look sharp when you put the hood up like it should. It’s a small feature that makes a huge difference. Also, the Langord is sleek with clean lines. It is not a puffy or bulky jacket; it’s fits more like a coat.
I am a shorter guy at 5'6" but I have a 42 inch chest and broad shoulders. This creates a problem because I could not even zipper up the size M. I easily fit into an M with The North Face though. The associate wanted me to try the fusion fit but there's a problem with that because even though the fusion fit has a smaller hood, a smaller chest, and shorter sleeves and a shorter hem, oddly the waist size does not go down in size. So essentially a fusion XL is like a regular L with a shorter hem and sleeves but oddly with wider hips. Theoretically the fusion should have been the best fit but instead it made me look very heavy. I returned the fusion XL and I came back and got a size L. The large fit much better even though I would have benefited from the shorter hem and sleeves of the fusion. It still works for me though and I don't look ridiculous in the jacket. If I wear a sweater underneath it fills out even better. The jacket is just cut in a flattering way and I do not look like I am wearing a boxy jacket. The jacket does cost $995 and it honestly is a quality product and I don't regret buying it. Is it worth that amount? probably not but this is also not a $300 jacket either. The material, the stitching, the zipper, and the fit all separate this from generic jackets and it is very evident up close. It is definitely a premium product and an investment.
Duck or goose-filled jackets seriously will keep you warm no matter the brand you buy. The Canada Goose model is filled with duck and my North Face is filled with goose ironically but they are both equally warm. I'll even say the Langford might even be warmer because of the outer windproof shell. You will overheat if you wear this indoors but it will do the job nicely outdoors all while looking good. There is no point in wearing this jacket above 40F because you will overheat.
The jacket is a luxury item and you can buy an equally warm jacket for a fraction of the price but if you have $1000 to spend then it’s a very nice purchase that you will have no regrets about. Just make sure you get the right size.

Decent Fit, Massively Overpriced
I tried on the fit of the jacket. The fit is good and it looks great with formal or casual wear. The only thing I would say is that the fit and material is not worth the $1000 pricetag. More like $500. Anything over $500 has to be so good that it uplifts me and moves me internally. This is decent. The jacket does keep one warm.

New to CG
Just bought this coat last week. I have tried it many times at Nordstrom stores but never had the guts to spend all that money to buy it. So finally, I did buy it. I am 6-3, 195lb, a Large fits just excellent.
It is very warm, good length(below the waist) and stylish. I feel like it's more stylish that my typical boring style, but it's very practical.
I am happy i got it. Hopefully it will last me for a very long while.
