Luka Expandable Tote Bag

Structural seam failure after only two uses. Company refused to stand behind the product. My Luka duffel developed seam separation at a load-bearing corner after only two trips. This is a structural failure, not cosmetic wear, and should not happen with normal travel use. I submitted photos and a warranty claim directly with Calpak (Order #1224484). The claim was denied based only on warranty timing rather than the actual defect. A travel duffel should not begin coming apart after such minimal use. I own multiple Calpak products and expected the company to stand behind its products and its repeat customers. Instead, they refused to take responsibility for a clearly defective bag. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love a lot of things about this bag, especially that it has so many pockets. I wouldn't say it's the most aesthetically pleasing bag - there's nothing particularly striking about a bag that looks like a puffy winter coat but it is very functional. The only thing I find particularly annoying about it is the two inside pockets that don't have any closures. The openings of both are too big; when I reach in, I sometimes can't really tell if I'm reaching into the main opening of the bag or one of the two pockets gaping openI really wish they would add a zipper closure to at least one of them and maybe add a mesh siding to whatever one has the zipper. Then it would be perfect. I also love that there is no fake leather on this bag which hopefully means no embarrassing peeling of the material as this bag ages.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I LOVE my Luka duffel, it’s not really an everyday bag so I’ve been looking for one I could use day to day for work and I think this is it! The size is perfect- room for my day-to-day items, a pocket for my laptop - plus a few hidden pockets for my tech extras (mouse, power cord). And I haven’t even had to use the extra extended area at the bottom if I unzipped that part. I definitely recommend!

But I can’t help but mention how much more comfortable it is to carry around. Maybe because of its slimmer profile. Just something to think about if you’re someone who is bad with weights and values comfort a lot while lugging it over one shoulder.
