Luka Expandable Tote Bag

Structural seam failure after only two uses. Company refused to stand behind the product. My Luka duffel developed seam separation at a load-bearing corner after only two trips. This is a structural failure, not cosmetic wear, and should not happen with normal travel use. I submitted photos and a warranty claim directly with Calpak (Order #1224484). The claim was denied based only on warranty timing rather than the actual defect. A travel duffel should not begin coming apart after such minimal use. I own multiple Calpak products and expected the company to stand behind its products and its repeat customers. Instead, they refused to take responsibility for a clearly defective bag. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I normally use the Haven for work, but I needed something lighter for work travel. This bag is exactly that! It’s lightweight, stylish, and a great match to the Haven. Truly the perfect buy.

I was using a large Le Pliage tote as my "airport bag" but got really annoyed having to use a seatbelt-style strap to keep it on top of my carry on suitcase. The Luka Tote was a perfect solution that was still lightweight, flexible, and spacious. I find it to be more comfortable because of its wider flat shoulder straps and I like that it glides really easy over my suitcase handles because of the smooth surface texture. I suggest that if you're shopping, be open to colors other than Black because it can often be hard to look inside and find what you need when the bag is black and planes can be dark.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this as my personal item for a trip to Europe, I was able to bring a change of clothes, laptop and basic toiletries no problem. I chose this bag over some other similar bags because it had better versatility and the fabric was suitable for using as a beach bag and the structure tolerated being shoved under a seat better than others. It is lightweight and the pocket on the side of the bag was great for getting through security and customs and having my passport and phone handy. I used the hidden pocket at the handle for chargers and headphones and the big inside pockets fit my water bottle and some snacks well. I am also using this as my work tote and keeping a pull up and wipes handy for my potty training toddler, and it makes getting out the door much easier since I can fit everything I need in one rather than having my laptop tote, lunch bag, gym bag… the straps stay put better when the bag has things in it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have now had my Luka laptop tote for 3 years, and it has held up exceptionally well! There are great pocket options, the key leash, and of course the expandable bottom. Couldn't recommend this one more highly as far as laptop totes go! Fits a lot more than you'd expect. My only qualm is that the material is more likely to slip off your shoulders, but not a dealbreaker.
