Cairo Kohl Louise Travel Makeup Bag

This little Stephanie Johnson Cairo Kohl Louise Travel Makeup Bag is a nice little bag. However, it is much smaller than anticipated. I absolutely love the print and the bag is well made, sturdy, the fabric is thick so it doesn’t collapse in on itself. It also holds quite a bit of makeup. Again I wish it was a bit bigger but all in all satisfactory. It would be great if it came in a dark indigo or eggplant shade with golden accents and then a softer corresponding color for inside fabric, not orange, not my favorite color. Neon yellow or green for the inside fabric! That would be awesome! I would buy the heck outta that.

I purchased this makeup bag to replace one I lost while on vacation. It was hard to find the perfect bag to organize all of my make up along with make up brushes. What I like: It’s sturdy/structured. The carrying handle on the top of the bag. The interior is lined with a wipeable, vinyl material for easy cleanup. Elasticized pouches around the perimeter for holding compact cases of blush and eyeshadow. What I dislike: There isn’t enough organization for makeup brushes. The inside lid has 3 elastic bands and a zipped pocket tucked behind the bands. I was able to put a powder brush in one band, then double up eyeshadow brushes in the bottom 2 bands, and my foundation brush inside the zipped pocket. It’s a little tight and a little too narrow for my powder and foundation brushes. The inside cavity of the bag holds a lot, but I wish it had dividers for keeping things organized. I also wish this bag was available in different patterns or just a solid textured color. The fake snake “fabric” cheapens the look. Despite the negatives, I will keep it because there are a lot of features I do like and there aren’t a lot of options for a small travel makeup bag.

Where have you been all my life? This travel cosmetics case is glamorous in a 1970s sort of way: a little bit disco and a little bit punk rock. I love the soft, silvery serpentine exterior, and the hot pink satin interior with loads of pockets plus elastic for holding a few of your must-have makeup brushes. It’s the kind of bag you’ll want to display on your bathroom counter or vanity. At home I’m using it for all of my blushes. I can’t wait to take it with me on my next adventure. I might just use it as a handbag … it’s that cute. This would make a perfect gift for a certain stylish someone in your life. XXOO

I've had these Stephanie Johnson cases for years and years, but the last time I needed an new one I could only find the flat find and not these more upright ones. This one is wonderful and much easier to locate just the product I want. I do wish that it was made of fabric like in the old days, but even with the snake patterned vinyl I'm very happy. This is the one of these cases that I have bought over the years.
