BYREDO
After traveling to his mother's hometown in India, BYREDO founder Ben Gorham became intrigued by scent and memory. Mentored by world-renowned perfumers, he started his line of luxury fragrances in Stockholm in 2006, focusing on raw, high-quality ingredients. Today, BYREDO candles, perfumes and more are known as much for their minimalist, stylistic packaging as they are for their irresistible scents.

Perfect for the kitchen
I have this in my kitchen and I burn it in the morning to get rid of kitchen cooking smells - I love it, it suits all seasons and doesn't speak to winter or summer in my opinion. It smells of tea, so it's un-intrusive and a crowd-pleaser. It's something you can leave burning without worrying that it can become overpowering, un-like Safran and Woods, which I also love, but with a shorter burning time.

Disgusting scent.
I ONLY purchase scents with specific notes; this way, I know I receive a rich, spicy, warm scent which is what I love for cold weather. Based on the notes in the description, this appeared to be perfect. It was not. The smell was of something burnt plus something that caused headaches/nausea. I thought it was just me until I burned it for a holiday party. Many people complained about something smelling off and making them feel sick and/or giving them a headache. Once I removed the candle and opened some windows, those who complained felt better almost immediately (including myself). SO much money wasted. Stay FAR away from this candle. Shocking as Byredo is a brand I rely on for excellent scents.

Unsure
I’m slightly unsure whether this smells like chai, it does have a cardamom chai smell however it is slightly synthetic and reminds me a bit like tomato soup. I do like a chia a lot, and Byredo candles are good quality candles and burn well. However I don’t think I’d repurchase this. Will see whether it grows on me

too artificial
The Byredo Chai Candle didn’t quite live up to my expectations. While I was excited about the warm, spicy chai scent, it ended up feeling overly artificial. The fragrance was more like a synthetic version of chai rather than a natural, comforting blend of spices. It felt a bit cloying and didn’t have the richness I was hoping for.
The throw was also a bit strong for my liking, almost overpowering in smaller spaces. Given the high price point, I was expecting a more refined, authentic scent experience, but this one just didn’t hit the mark. It’s not a candle I’d repurchase, especially if you prefer more subtle or natural scents.

Magical scent!
Love, love, love this candle. I am on my 5th jar of this candle. I feel that it should be called, "Byredo's version of a Christmas scent". It is a spicy, woody scent, with notes of ginger, cinnamon and cardamon, while the violet notes and tea leaves, make for a really interesting scent. I think this is Byredo's trademark to make unique and subtle scents - excluding Biblioteque and Safran which are stunning but much stronger. Scents that are mysterious, surprising and beautiful. When I want a stronger scent I will go to Diptyque and Cire Trudon which have been my favourites for many years, but then when I want something different and more subtle I always turn to Byredo. If you like Chai, you might also like Byredo's Symphonique candle.

If you like incense
Chai is a really distinctive candle scent. It reminds me of incense that's authentic to temples in Asia but also is grounded in those warm woodsy scents that reminds me of hiking in California. It fascinating and I find that it surprises me every time I light it. I will say that smelling incense every day can be intense so sometimes I will burn this for maybe 10 minutes and then burn Diptyque's Baies and the room smells FANTASTIC. I

Chic
I bought it as a gift for my husband as he is mainly fuelled by chai, seeing byredo had a chai scented candle I hoped he would love it.
He did! It makes our whole kitchen smell like chai, warm and full of cinnamon spice, perfect scent for the autumn / winter time
