Burnout Velvet Long Sleeve Ruffle Hem Midi Dress

The dress is beautiful but was defective, which I did not discover until the day of my daughter's wedding, so I had to wear it, fixing it with magic tape which did not hold through the event. I am now caught in limbo between Nordstrom and Marketplace, for which Nordstrom serves as the middleman. Neither will take responsibility for the most expensive dress I ever purchased. Nordstrom customer service is not what it used to be.

I'm surprised at a couple of the other reviews regarding the size and length. One says it runs small, but I found it to be closer to true to size. I also ordered a 20 and it fit, though I'm more of a 20W. Someone else said it was too long and hit the floor, though she is 5'8". I am 5'6" and the dress is a little above my ankles, which works well. I think the differences may be due to different figure types. I have a larger bust and am somewhat curvy, with narrow hips. The fabric is a pretty velvet burnout, soft and light, but not cheap looking or see through. I'm plan on wearing this for my 50th high school reunion in a few weeks. I gained weight in the recent past and am heavier than I've ever been, but I feel comfortable in this and it's fairly flattering.
