Beauty Burberry Kisses Lipstick

Like all the Burberry make up I've tried, this one has not disappointed me. It is creamy and non sticky. It has an amazing very rich luminous color and it makes your lips feel hydrated. I bought it in "Military red" and it is a very vibrant color, just love it.

I am a huge fan of Burberry makeup and I think they make some of the best beauty products on the market. However, I was disappointed by the "buildable" aspect of this lipstick. While I should say that my holy grail lipstick is Nars Audacious, which is more matte and pigmented, Burberry Kisses is light in texture and pigment. It is luminous and creamy and leaves a moist feel on the lips. The advertising seemed to indicate that you could have it either light or intense, depending on the number of swipes. Not really so. I found that even after 10 swipes the color was not very strong. So, if you are looking for a creamy light weight summer lipstick, this may be for you. If like me you like lipstick that packs more of a punch, even in summer, I would look elsewhere. The colors, while soft, are beautiful, especially Coral Pink, Light Crimson (a pinky coral) and Poppy, which is a cool bordeaux leaning red.

I bought Burberry Kisses in No. 89 Rose Blush. I typically go for pink-brown lip colors for everyday wear, and, based on the photos, it looked like Rose Blush would be closest to what I would want. I confirmed with a customer service consultant on the Burberry website and she confirmed that No.89 would be the best choice. Burberry Kisses have the same high-quality, magnetized packaging as other Burberry lipsticks. The formula is moisturizing and I personally found it to be adequately pigmented. The best part of the "Kisses" line is that it is devoid of the fragrance that is so strong in the other Burberry lipstick lines. It is also light and non-sticky. The color was indeed a pink-brown but it was a vibrant, bright pink-brown. I was looking more for a muted pink-brown. While Rose Blush was not exactly what I was looking for, I decided to keep it because the color IS beautiful. I still prefer the Lip Velvet line, especially No. 303 Antique Pink. However, I was told by the customer service consultant that they are "transitioning" into the Burberry Kisses line (which is probably why I can't find Antique Pink anywhere!!!). My only complaint is that it doesn't have the staying power of Lip Velvet but it does leave a slight tint on the lips even when the lipstick is gone. Looks great, feels great, does not last as long as I would like.

I really liked the formula of the original Burberry lipsticks (Lip covers?), but had to return it because of its strong smell. I usually wear Chanel or YSL lipsticks, but I couldn't stand the smell of Burberry Lip Cover. I do like Burberry Lip Mists (there are no strong scents and feels so moisturizing on the lips), so I wanted to try the new "Kisses" lipsticks. I got 2 colors: 1. Nude Beige (#1) and 2. Military Red (#105). Nude Beige is okay. Because the color is so sheer to begin with , I prefer Lip Mists formulas since they are more moisturizing. For Military Red color, I really like this. There is no strong smell; the color is vibrant and pretty; and it is so beautiful on the lips. So, I guess it depends on the color. For Military Red, I give 5 stars, but for Nude Beige, I give 3 stars, so average is 4. I just ordered another color, Bright Coral #73 after seeing makeup bloggers raving about it.

I like the way you get more pigment and can intensify the color. It has some gloss like the old lip mist so it blends well. The color lasts too, even after drinking a to-go coffee. The first one I bought was Military Red. Then I got Peony Pink for a day look. Great new formula.

I've purchased 2 colors online and one I returned because it looked like paste on my mouth, Nude Beige 01. However, the second color , English Rose 17, is my new favorite lipstick. It has great pigment and with each application I can make it deeper in color. I love the creamy consistency. Wear it every single day since purchasing. Bottom line, it's the color that decides if you like this lipstick. I love one and didn't like the other. I love English Rose! PS- I'm really liking the magnetic case, it prevents the lid from falling off in my purse.
