Impossible to walk in w/o them slipping off

I want to love these. They are very cute. However, they have an elastic band over the instep so when I walk in them, they stretch out (way out) and slip off my feet. I have many Birkenstocks and have never had this problem.

size 39

I got a size 39 and they fit; if you plan to wear with socks I would size up.
