Boston Soft Footbed Clog

The suede Boston with the "soft" footbed provides terrific support and comfort after 20 or 30 hours of wearing so that the cork footbed can conform to your feet and your feet adjust to the aggressive arch support. The Boston is made in a narrow version, which is what Nordstrom sells as "medium" and in a regular version which fits wider feet. A woman should add 31 to her American size and a man should add 33. So, a women's 10 becomes a Boston 41 and a men's 10 becomes a 43. The narrow (medium) version might feel snug on the first day of wearing but the cork footbed compresses over time and the suede will stretch. After 40 or 50 hours of active wearing, that snug fit relaxes noticeably. The soft footbed IS softer than the traditional Birkenstock footbed it is still MUCH firmer than most people are used to. If you wear your Bostons three or four days a week that firmness becomes your new normal and other footwear will feel mushy and unsupportive. After you and your Bostons have adjusted to each other, you can wear them 12 hours a day and your feet, ankles and knees will still feel fine.

I have a couple pairs of Birkenstock sandals in 40. So I ordered these in 40. My foot hits the back right on. It almost runs a tad bit too small. Maybe because the style is close toed. I think I’m going to return and size up one. I guess if you’re in between sizes and want to wear these with socks or want them a little more comfy, I’d size up.

I have been shopping at Nordstrom for years and never in my life have I received such a low quality product that was very clearly used. Absolutely embarrassing and shameful that they would even sell this to a customer.

I have to admit that I used to make fun of Birkenstocks. I honestly never thought that I would own a pair until I recently started getting backaches (from walking around barefoot so much during the pandemic) and I came across an article discussing how beneficial these shoes were for alleviating back pain. That piqued my interest so I started researching them online and I kept seeing all kinds of celebrities wearing them. And I have to say, they started to grow on me and soon they became one of those things that you find "ugly-cute". After picking up my first pair of Birks in the Arizona style, I was in love. Now mind you, I have skinny legs and small feet so of course, they do look a little clunky on me but I find that they are so comfortable that I just don't care how goofy I might look, despite the fact that my husband had a few chuckles when he first saw them on my feet. Anyways, these Birkenstock Boston Clogs are really a treat! I have only recently begun wearing Birks sandals but had never owned a pair of clogs. I picked these up in the suede Night Blue color and I love them. They were super soft and comfortable right out of the box. For reference, I normally wear a size 6 - 61/2 in shoes and in Birks, I wear a size 36. My shoes are normally medium in width. I purchased these clogs in my normal Birks size and they fit perfectly. I recently wore them when traveling so I put on a pair of socks. I had to loosen the buckle one notch for a comfortable fit with socks. They were so soft and cozy. I had no pain in my feet or back when I stood around for long periods of time or when walking all over the airport. I was really happy that my Birks were super comfy. I really love these clogs. I wear them with jeans and even leggings sometimes.

Shoes look & fits exactly as described. Love the color and fit. Stylish shoe that will never go out of style. I’m a true 9.5- 10 and a 41 fits perfectly. My only issue is with Nordstrom mailing shoes in bag. I received the box in a plastic bag which completely damaged the box. Shoes at this price should be shipped in a box. I usually store my shoes in their original box, unfortunately this won’t be the case.

I’ve been wanting these for a while, glad I finally purchased. Very comfortable!
