Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer

I am quite fair, so ordered Vanilla, which was way dark.I spoke wi a Nordstrom Beauty consultant on phone. She recommended Snow which is perfect. There is a good amount of product in the bottle which features a nice applicator. I only use a small amount daily with this, unlike many others I’ve tried in my years long concealer quest. This is nicer than YSL. The color blends in beautifully, with no creasing. Nice for an over 50’s lady. I’ve always taken good care of my skin but find myself getting more appreciative looks wearing this. For me, that seals the deal!

It has amazing coverage, but it was a lot more warm and yellow than expected. Anyone cool toned would not suit this color well; I would recommend for those select people should opt for a different shade. Also, the applicator is kind of hard to work with because it lets out a lot of product, but I learned how to control that better as time went on. It may not even be a problem to some at all! Other than that, I would totally recommend it!

This is a full coverage concealer, but it, like every other full coverage concealer on the market, can’t work miracles. I’m in my 50s and if I slathered this on the way 20-something’s do, it would look aging and dreadful. I color correct First. Then I can use far less product. I find this to be more hydrating than Shape Tape, but for my undereyes, it’s not hydrating enough and I’ll have to return it. I think this would be great for younger skin (I’m 53) and/or less dry undereyes and lids (if used as a primer). I use Laura Mercier camouflage concealer to spot conceal and don’t use concealers to sculpt, highlight or contour, but if I did, I think this would be a nice product. I think both this product and Shape Tape have strange color ranges. I generally use mix two shades of concealer to get a match, but both lines still challenge me. For example, most people who need full coverage concealers would benefit from a peach undertone, yet neither of these brands have it.

I own a number of concealers and this is one of the ones I keep coming back to. It's quite thick, highly pigmented and gives excellent full coverage which lasts up to 10 hours on my skin. As long as I've used setting powder after, and moisturized well before, I find only minimal creasing or settling into lines as the day wears on. I mostly use it under the eye area - a pea size amount is more than sufficient. I also use it as a highlighter and to disguise the odd blemish. A little goes a very long way with this one and often I find I've applied more than I need. Can't say I'm the biggest fan of the doe foot applicator, it's too large for precise application (blemishes) although works well on larger surfaces such as under the eyes. The bottle too is large, it's literally the same size as a foundation bottle, perhaps the biggest concealer I've seen so you definitely get your money's worth here! My only slight criticism is that unlike my HG concealer (Mac Studio Finish) there's no SPF in here so I have to apply a sunblock separately, before concealer. And without SPF those very blemishes I'm trying to disguise turn darker with UV exposure. Got this in the 'Honey' shade which seemed fine when trying on in-store, however it seems somehow slightly darker once I got home and applied it. I usually switch to a lighter shade of both foundation and concealer during winter and in this case I will definitely have to.
