Bolton Pebble Grain Leather Satchel

I love this bag, the size is almost perfect for me and it wears comfortably, especially for people of smaller stature. The pebble grain calfskin leather is thick and supple, the stitching is perfect and the hardware is very well machined heavy brass. The latch has a great positive feel both when closing and popping it open and doesn't feel like it will give out or stick after years of use. The decision to switch from hard sides in the older Mr. Thom line, to a semi-structured style adds a lot of versatility to this bag, especially if you carry things like high-end headphones that have large, oddly shaped cases that waste a lot of space in bags that can't contour to them. The metal feet on the bottom are also a great touch for a smaller tote like this, not many bags this size have them and they really add the cherry on top of a great work and light duty travel bag. The styling is understated and modern, not overly busy or blinged out with decorative hardware bits or big external logos many other houses seem to believe are a good substitute for quality materials and construction. All in all, this bag has been a great upgrade to my daily office carry. The only thing I wish is that it were just an inch or two larger in all three directions. It just barely accepts a 14" laptop along with a headphone case (though it can't fit some of the pairs my old bag could) FiiO DAP, fragrance bottle and a few other small items. If you have a laptop any larger than that, or have larger items you carry, the cinch opening is quite a bit smaller than the size of the base, so things that fit the bag's dimensions on paper may not actually fit. There is a larger, more structured version in the Mr. Thom Soft Pebble Grain Leather Luggage Bag, but it's quite a bit bigger and more expensive as well as being a discontinued product. So it would make this bag much more versatile to just be a bit larger. Other than that, I highly recommend it as a daily carry for anyone who carries a smaller laptop and just needs to bring a few more items along in comfort and style.
