What it is: A silky, powder eyeshadow that glides on smoothly, blends easily and delivers a soft matte finish.
Why it's different: The densely pigmented formula keeps its color and can be layered for greater shade intensity. It's available in a wide range of shades for coloring lids, lining eyes and defining brows.
How to use: Depending on the shade, the eyeshadow can be used all over the lid, on the lower lid, in the crease or as a highlighter.
Pro tips: To create a clean slate for other shadows, apply a light shadow color from your lashline to your brow bone as a base. Dark shades of powder eyeshadow can be used with an eyeliner brush to line your eyes. Light, shimmery shades can be applied to the inner corner of the eye or on the brow bone as a subtle highlight. Avoid eyeshadows with red or purple undertones if you have redness around the eyes, as these colors will make your eyes look tired. Stick with neutral, brown or grey colors.

'Bone' is a staple for me...
'Bone 2' is the perfect neutral-ivory base eye shadow for me: light, pigmented and velvety in texture, never chalky. I use it daily, along with BB's Taupe, or simply by itself on my brow bone and over my lids too. The color itself is a slight yellow toned off-white with just the slightest hint of shimmer and non of the pinks or beige undertones that I've often come across in base eye shadows before - and which don't work for me. This makes it the perfect blank canvas for blending all & any eye shadows I've got planned to add over it for the day/night ahead (it won't clash) and pulls everything together really nicely. It neutralizes most color irregularities around my eye area too, such as minor dark veins showing - I just apply 2 or 3 coats of this and it's almost gone! And it stays put...up to 10 hours on me, most probably because of the very matte oil-absorbing texture (I'm also applying just the tiniest amount of primer beforehand!). One slight criticism I have is the packaging which doesn't always seal shut properly and can end up creating a powdery mess in my bag. I haven't had this issue with any of the other BB eyeshadows (which come in the same square black packaging) so I'm guessing it's just a one-off. Agree With 1-Star Reviews: Little or No Pigment
This was my first Bobbi Brown product and I was excited to try what is supposed to be a premium eyeshadow. I got Ivory, but the pigment is practically non-existent. It’s more transparent than any transparent powder I have. I’ve tried it several ways for several days and can’t stop thinking “return it”!!! Which I will. Just awful.

MATT Eyeshadow!
I am so pleased that Bobbi Brown offers some neutral eyeshadows in a MATT formulation. As women age and develop crinkles around the eyes the shimmer shadows emphasize those fine lines whereas MATT finishes do not, or at least not as much.
The shadows blend easily and do not irritate my eyes like some other brands that I have tried.
I purchased 4 colors: Ivory (51), Shell (17), Antique Rose (3F) and Cement (29). I like a soft, natural look rather than a dark, smoky eye, I want to be made up but not LOOK made up.
I am extremely pleased with the shadows I purchased with one exception and that is the color Shell (17). For some reason that one shadow is much more loose and powdery than the other 3 listed above. When I try to use the Shell color way too much powder gets on the brush and it makes a mess so I no longer use the Shell (17) and cannot recommend that one because of the powdery texture. I do not have that problem with the other colors - they are easy to control and the containers stay clean because they are more solid, not as powdery.
I think I will return the Shell (17) eyeshadow - thanks Nordstrom for your wonderful return policy!

Great Colors and Long lasting
Bobbi Brown has so many awesome colors to choose from. You can get the color that's right for you and whatever occasion you have. I got "hot stone" and "antique rose" and they are awesome. I'm using them for my wedding, but I can also use them on a daily basis. You get a subtler or a bolder effect depending on how much make up you put on. They are long lasting and high quality eye shadows. They're going to last me a long time, too, which is awesome!

Smoke
This eye shadow, Smoke, is fabulous in many ways. First of all, it goes on so smoothly and with no "fallout," so no cleanup is necessary after brushing it smoothly across your lid. I also line my lid with this beautiful color, which is sort of a taupe color. I expected gray, but this could almost be described as gray/taupe/brown. Very versatile. This is my first BB eye shadow and it won't be my last.

A must have!
I've been looking for a new eyeshadow and am loving Bobbi Brown's shadow in navy blue. I wouldn't have thought to try navy but it's so fashion-forward and the shadow wears great from morning to night. I also sometimes use it as an eyeliner and it looks amazing! It smudges perfectly.

Great base color
I have several eye shadows from Bobbi Brown, but the bone provides a great base. I use it as my first all over layer. I also have the Hot Stone and both of them together are a great combination.
