Black Rose Cream Mask

Before now, the only time the brand Sisley was on my lips was to cringe at the high price tag. Even in duty free (and Coscto!) the cost seems wildly out of line with what's inside the bottle. Lucky me, due to some strategic sampling, I got to try the Black Rose Cream Mask. I kept my sample packet in the fridge, as I like my masks to be soothing and cold when possible. I used the whole sample packet (treat yo' self!) and really slathered the mask on. The texture and scent were a very luxurious sensory experience, but the proof of skincare is in the results, right? I've always heard people saying their skin "drank up" a product; I thought it was just a hyperbole. With the Black Rose mask, my face literally drank it, absorbed it, whatever. But after about 15 minutes of relaxing, there was a small bit of product left to tissue off/rub in, and my skin looked GORGEOUS. Like porcelain! If I had the budget, or a gift card, I would buy the full size mask. I'm almost hoping I DON'T get the chance to sample more Sisley product, if they're all this good, it's more temptation I don't need ;)

I'll be purchasing this from Nordstrom soon, but first bought this in a duty-free store in the Barcelona airport. I use this as a moisturizer after I get out of the shower on those days when I'd like some help reclaiming five years or so for my face. The smell and texture are fabulous. Don't follow the instructions and "towel off the extra"--if you don't use too much, everything will melt right into your skin. Why waste any of this? If you use this weekly instead of daily, a tube can last many, many months.

The ingredients listed on the Nordstrom app are not the same ingredients on the actual box. I was very disappointed when I received my shipment. I purchased their mascara and eyeliner also and I encountered the same dilemma for each product. I guess I have to be careful when it only lists “active ingredients”.

I've tried this mask two ways: once as instructed and once my way! The first application was followed to the letter - a thick layer left on for 10-15 minutes and then wiped away with a tissue, or cotton pad in my case, as was out of tissues. Results: this seemed to me an excessive use of product. I did notice a slight glow and definitely an increase in hydration but that was to be expected as there is a lot of shea butter in here along with other humectants to help the skin retain moisture. The following night I tried it my way: a thinner layer - maybe half the amount I'd used the previous night. I let it sink into my skin for about 5 minutes and then went to sleep. Results in the morning were good: dewy and slightly glowing skin, and even better moisture retention compared to the previous nights' application. And more importantly a lot less product used! Of course beauty brands would love for us consumers to "use a thick layer and wipe away the excess" - that works out much better for their stock turnaround! But unless you have very sensitive skin, there is absolutely no reason why you can't leave this on for an hour, or even overnight. The ingredients are almost identical to a rich night cream. I rarely rave this much about a skin care product, but I can really see the results of this mask. I put it on before bedtime and leave it on all night. The directions say to wipe off the excess, but I just use a small amount and leave it on. It is not a mask that hardens--it's creamy. I love everything about it--the fragrance, the consistency, and the feel. Pricey, but great!

This mask delivers as promised, especially instant results and immediate benefits. I put the light pink crème gel on about 15 minutes before a shower and let it absorb. I was amazed at how fantastic my skin looked and felt after I washed it off. Smooth, wrinkle free, no redness, even tone, clear, luminous, refreshed, soft. Has a light rose scent, a little goes a long way. Luxurious skin treat.
