Deluxe Shoe Care Kit

I tried everything and I mean everything. I waited sooo patiently for these Boston clogs to come back into stock.L. I was ecstatic! Then one night wearing my birks pregnant in the kitchen I dropped a greasy spatula on them that was being used in my cast iron. So not only was it greasy it was black char!!!! I burst into tears and my husband quickly googled white vinegar gets stains out of suede. Welp that got the black char off but left a stain so I ordered an eraser on amazon which did nothing. Then I ordered saphir suede shampoo after YouTube swore by it and that made the stain darker. I tried baking soda overnight in the stain hoping I could at least lighten it and that did nothing. I was beside myself with pregnancy hormone tears over my long awaited beloved birks and I don’t know why I waited to order their official cleaner. Before & after pics! I can’t believe it it worked! Thank you inventor of Birkenstock cleaner & Nordstrom!

The Cork Sealer works well at moistening and protecting the cork, just make sure you only apply it to the cork along the edges of the sandal, not the suede footbed! The Water & Stain Repellent should be applied to the leather straps only. It did smooth and darkened the color on my Oiled Habana Leather straps as well as my mother’s Oiled Black Leather straps, but I like that look, knowing later on it will be more rustic/uneven in color with wear. However, I used the Cleaner & Refresher on our footbed, only after a month of wear to be proactive at preventing dark footbeds, it left our footbeds darker than ever before, albeit smelling nice. The photos of the footbeds are after a week left to dry in a cool place. I contacted Birkenstock and the rep said I used it a bit too early, it should be used when the footbed gets really dirty after months/years of wear. Thankfully, I was able to return my shoes to Nordstrom.

I am new to the Birkenstock world and decide to purchase the Madrid Torty Slide in Almond Birkenstock sandals. They are super cute and were very hard to find! I like the almond color, but I am worried about the light color, so I decided to buy this kit to protect my new purchase. Since I already own several pairs of suede and nubuck shoes (Timberland and Ugg), I already knew how to use the little brush. Use the brush to brush before using the other products to remove any debris that might be on the nubuck or suede. You can use the edge part sort of like an eraser to help remove scuff marks. I like to treat my suede and nubuck shoes BEFORE I wear them. I used the brush first and then I sprayed them (holding 6 inches apart) with the water and stain repellent and let them sit to dry overnight. Be careful not to saturate the shoe - just make sure the spray is evenly distributed across the shoe. Once my birks dried, I repeated the process just to add an extra "coat" of protection. Now I'm ready to wear my cute new birks!

I got this with my new Birkenstock’s as suggested by Nordstrom’s site. I decided to seal and treat before I used my sandals to keep them in good shape and I followed the directions exactly. The cork sealer was sloppy glue and now my brand new sandals are stiff and the soles are all discolored and ruined.

The cork sealer is my favorite product out of the bunch. It truly makes a difference in the look and wear of your Birks. HOWEVER, the applicator for the sealant is tricky- the liquid spills out too easily and gets on the footbed and upper. Also there were no directions on how to use the suede brush or how to use the set as a whole (do you seal the cork first, then clean? who knows) which is why I gave the set 4 stars.
