Starling Leather Flat (Women)

I was looking for a pair of shoes I could wear to work and a long my commute as well (about 60 minutes of walking). I was a few feet from my front door when the back of my heel/Achilles tendon area started hurting a bit. The shoes are super floppy and don't really hold their own shape so my foot had to contort as I walked to keep them from rubbing my heel so much and it just hurt more and more. Long story short, there's a fabric tab right at the back of the top of the heel that just dug into my foot/heel all day, gave me blisters, etc. the arch support is also very weak, the insoles are pretty much flat and my feet felt like they were going to turn outward the whole time. Returned them the next day.

I already own and love 2 pairs of the original style Starlings. Much to my surprise, this pair fit totally different - much shorter and more narrow than the other pairs I own in the same size. Sadly had to return. … First the Swan was discontinued, and now the Starling has been tweaked. No more Birdies for me.

These shoes are exactly what I was looking for. I needed a pair of flat black loafers. It’s was a challenge to find ones that fit well and were cute. I have flat feet that lean towards the wide side and also have a small bunion on one foot. These fit well. They are kind of tight on the one foot, but not uncomfortably so and being leather they will probably stretch some. There is a great arch support too, which if you don’t have flat feet you might not notice. I also have only been wearing mostly barefoot shoes for the last two-three years and these don’t hurt or squeeze my feet like regular shoes do now. They are beautiful, well made shoes. I am happy with my purchase.
