Roadrunner Sneaker (Women)

I was looking for a retro-style black and white sneaaker and this one popped up in my search. I loved the look but had never tried any Birdies shoes so didn’t know what to expect. The style is spot-on and exactly what I was looking for - I would definitely give 5 stars for the style. They are nice and cushy and generally very comfortable. My only ding is the design of the tongue. It’s a very short tongue and it has a leather or faux leather piece wrapped around the end of the tongue which makes it less flexible when walking. As a result I do notice that the top of my foot is hitting the tongue when I walk. I’m hoping it breaks in over time and it’s not terribly uncomfortable, just noticeable. The shoelaces are also a tad long so I end up double knotting them which ideally I wouldn’t have to do on a fashion sneaker (I expect to double knot on a running speaker). I don’t officially have a narrow foot but it is probably a little more narrow than average and these fit fine. Might be a bit tight for someone with a wider foot than average.
