Biotin & Collagen Shampoo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to get these hair products, but very unhappy with the overall result. The initial time that I used the products I did like how my hair felt (to touch) and looked. It felt soft and looked shiny, but it was hard to comb through, weird! Like a film on my hair. I did also notice that I had much more shedding than usual. “Shedding” so I thought. It made my hair come out a lot! The smell gave me a reaction and I was sneezing uncontrollably, itching and became really congested for days to follow. The second time I used it, after several weeks I wanted to see if I would have the same reaction, and I did. The reaction to the smell and the shampoo and conditioner in general was even worse than the first time. I begin to sneeze, cough, and itch uncontrollably and much more intensely! I remained congested for a little over a week, with an overall feeling of unwellness. Also, I had a lot more of my hair actually fall out during the second usage, and it didn’t make my hair soft, but instead this time it made it incredibly dry; it took awhile and many other products to bring my hair back from what it did to it. After the first use, despite the “allergy symptoms initially” I thought it was going to be a product that I would love and so, I actually bought some other products from the brand (line) from retail stores. Some of the products I have already returned, one travel size kit I’m unable to return because of where I purchased it. Bummer. I do not intend on using this brand in the future and I do not recommend it. I do not recommend it because of my experiences. The first one wasn’t good, but I thought I would give it a try again, but the extreme reaction the second time, made me really research the product in depth. It turns out the product contains D&C Red No. 33, Ext. D&C Violet No. 2 Cetearyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, etc. The ingredient list has a lot of things can cause allergic reactions. I found lots of reports on Reddit, as well as other websites of other people stating similar results of allergic reactions, drying of their hair and their hair falling out. I don’t have trouble with products usually and especially not with ones that have good ingredients, like these claim to. I don’t have a sensitive scalp or sensitive skin either, so I don’t know what it is about this brand but, I will never use it again. The packaging was really pretty and the stickers were a nice touch.
